go-dev-mcp CLAUDE.md

go-dev-mcp CLAUDE.md is an instructions file for coding agents from fpt/go-dev-mcp. It costs 573 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

Repository instructions for GoDevMCP, a server that gives coding agents tools for Go development. They describe the project structure and the commands used to build, run, test, format, lint, install, and debug it.

In plain words
What is it for?
Building and installing the GoDevMCP program, running its tests and code checks, starting it, and inspecting its MCP tools during development.
Why use it?
They give an agent the project-specific steps needed to work safely and check whether changes are sound. This avoids guessing commands or overlooking the repository's quality checks.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00573 $0.00573
Opus 5 $0.00287 $0.00287
Sonnet 5 $0.00115 $0.00115
Haiku 4.5 $0.00057 $0.00057

Measured 4d ago against content hash 96898b052e55, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-08-30, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

go-dev-mcp CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 4d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Architecture Overview

GoDevMCP is a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that provides Go development tools. The architecture follows clean architecture principles:

Core Components

  • main.go: Entry point using Google's subcommands pattern
  • internal/subcmd/: Subcommand implementations (serve, tree, datetime, etc.)
  • internal/mcptool/: MCP tool handlers and registration
  • internal/app/: Core business logic for each tool
  • internal/infra/: Infrastructure services (filesystem, GitHub API, HTTP client)
  • internal/repository/: Data access layer implementations

MCP Tools Architecture

The server registers multiple tools in internal/mcptool/register.go:

  • get_current_datetime: Current date/time
  • run_make: Execute make targets with intelligent output filtering
  • tree_dir: Directory structure visualization
  • search_godoc/read_godoc: Go documentation tools
  • search_github_code/get_github_content/tree_github_repo: GitHub integration
  • search_local_files: Local file content search

Key Patterns

  • Each tool has a handler in internal/mcptool/ that delegates to business logic in internal/app/
  • Infrastructure concerns are abstracted through interfaces in internal/repository/
  • Subcommands provide CLI access to tools for testing/debugging
  • The server supports both stdio and SSE modes for different MCP clients

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
