accreta: Instructions file for Claude Code

CLAUDE.md

accreta CLAUDE.md is an instructions file for Claude Code from francescofioredev/accreta. It costs 1,565 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

Project instructions for Accreta, a knowledge base that an AI agent maintains as linked Markdown pages. Each claim keeps its source, and the system detects when source material changes or conflicts.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when changing Accreta’s architecture, source tracking, drift detection, contradiction handling, or project conventions.
Why use it?
It explains the project’s rules for trustworthy, traceable knowledge instead of leaving the coding agent to infer them.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.01565 $0.01565
Opus 5 $0.00783 $0.00783
Sonnet 5 $0.00313 $0.00313
Haiku 4.5 $0.00156 $0.00156

Security

Grade A, and why

accreta CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 7d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

CLAUDE.md — accreta

You are working on accreta: a knowledge base that an AI agent writes and maintains, with provenance back to the sources and drift detection when those sources change.

This file is the operating manual for working on accreta itself. It is not the constitution that accreta generates for its users — that lives in templates/constitution/ and is a product artifact.

1. What this project is

Most systems that give an agent knowledge of a large corpus use RAG: embed everything, retrieve chunks per query, rebuild context every time. accreta takes the other path, from Karpathy's LLM wiki pattern: the agent compiles knowledge into interlinked markdown once and then keeps it current.

Three properties follow, and they are the whole point:

  1. Provenance — every non-trivial claim cites source, path, line range, revision.
  2. Drift detection — each page records the revision it was verified against, so when a source moves the system names the pages now in doubt.
  3. Refusal to over-synthesize — when sources disagree, record the contradiction; never silently pick a winner.

Anything that erodes one of these three is a regression, even when it makes the tool more convenient.

2. Origin, and what it means for the code

accreta is extracted from a system that documented a 17-repository backend and runs in production. Much of the code arrives already proven. Two consequences:

  • Comments that explain a failure are load-bearing. The original carries remarks like "a read-only connection cannot create the -shm file a WAL database needs". Each encodes an incident. Port them; do not tidy them away.
  • Generalizing is the work. The original assumed git repositories and code-shaped page types. Removing those assumptions without losing the mechanics is the actual task. When in doubt, keep the mechanism and lift the assumption.

3. Architecture

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
