starlight-creator-mcp: Instructions file for Codex

AGENTS.md

starlight-creator-mcp AGENTS.md is an instructions file for Codex, OpenCode from frankxai/starlight-creator-mcp. It costs 322 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

Repository instructions for coding agents working on the Starlight Creator MCP project. They describe its packages, supported tools, checks, release rules, and security constraints.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use them when changing, testing, building, or releasing this Node and pnpm project, including its provider adapters, storage, server, CLI, and installable package.
Why use it?
They give an agent project-specific rules that may not be clear from the source code alone, reducing incompatible changes and unsafe handling of keys or network access.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00322 $0.00322
Opus 5.5 $0.00129 $0.00129
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00064 $0.00064
Haiku 4.5 $0.00032 $0.00032

Security

Grade A, and why

starlight-creator-mcp AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 12d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Creator MCP engineering

This repository owns the unbranded BYOK Creator MCP runtime. Brand packs are data; their init/AGENTS.md files are generated project templates, not instructions for changing this repository. Start with README.md, SECURITY.md and docs/NPM_RELEASE.md for the runtime and release contracts.

Use Node 22.13 or newer and the pinned [email protected] workspace manager. Keep provider adapters, the core ledger/storage/network boundary, MCP server, CLI and installable bundle in their existing packages. Preserve public exports and data compatibility; name unsupported migrations explicitly.

Use pnpm run typecheck, pnpm run build, pnpm run lint and focused Vitest tests appropriate to a change. Release logic uses pnpm run test:release. The hosted CI also verifies real archived-package installs on Linux and Windows. Do not treat a source build or tarball dry run as an installed-consumer proof.

Keep keys out of source, logs and package archives. Network retrieval requires configured allowed hosts; provider output must not grant itself access. Recovery of an existing provider job must not silently submit another paid generation. Keep publication approval and credential isolation enforced in the runtime.

Release through the reviewed main-branch workflow in docs/NPM_RELEASE.md. Publish the verified archives only after both operating systems accept the same bytes, and preserve provenance and release receipts. Keep independent findings and remaining production evidence visible; synthetic tests do not establish live provider behavior or customer value.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
