In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when editing, building, testing, formatting, or configuring this Go project.
Why use it?
It gives a coding agent the project’s rules before it changes files, reducing branch conflicts and incompatible builds.

Written for Claude Code: the file is CLAUDE.md. Also seen: mentions CLAUDE.md; mentions AGENTS.md; mentions Codex.

This is future-architect/uzomuzo-oss's own configuration. It tells Claude Code how to work on uzomuzo-oss itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Copy it as a starting point and replace the rules that are about this project. Everything uzomuzo-oss configures →

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00643 $0.00643
Opus 5 $0.00321 $0.00321
Sonnet 5 $0.00129 $0.00129
Haiku 4.5 $0.00064 $0.00064

Measured 6d ago against content hash 5e614db4c6ee, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-07, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

uzomuzo-oss CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 6d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

CLAUDE.md

Worktree Isolation (MUST READ FIRST)

ALWAYS call EnterWorktree before doing any work that changes files. This prevents branch conflicts when multiple sessions run in parallel. Give it a descriptive name (e.g., feat-goreleaser). Commit before exiting and inform the user of the branch name.

Worktree deletion is dangerous — other sessions may depend on it. NEVER remove a locked or unmerged worktree. See .claude/rules/git-workflow.md "Worktree Lifecycle: Lock and Cleanup" for the full safe cleanup protocol (lock check → merge check → dirty check).

Build & Test

go build -o uzomuzo ./cmd/uzomuzo # build
go test ./... # test all
goimports -w . && golangci-lint run # format & lint
go run ./cmd/uzomuzo update-spdx # regenerate SPDX license list

Configuration

Copy config.template.env to .env (auto-loaded via godotenv). Key vars: GITHUB_TOKEN, LOG_LEVEL, LIFECYCLE_ASSESS_TYPE. See config.template.env for defaults.

Go Version Policy

Team uses Go 1.26.1. The go 1.25.0 line in go.mod is the module's minimum supported Go version — do not downgrade.

Architecture (DDD)

Interfaces → Application → Domain ← Infrastructure. See .claude/rules/ddd-architecture.md.

  • domain/ — Pure business logic. Core: Analysis, ResolvedLicense, EOLStatus, AssessmentResult
  • application/ — Use case orchestration. AnalysisService. Supports AnalysisEnricher hook
  • infrastructure/ — API clients (depsdev, github, eolevaluator), integration, CSV export
  • interfaces/cli/ — CLI entry points. No concurrent logic
  • pkg/uzomuzo/ — Public library facade

Key Concepts

  • PURL Identity: OriginalPURL (caller input) / EffectivePURL (resolved) / CanonicalKey (dedup key)
  • Generated: internal/domain/licenses/spdx_generated.go — never edit, use go run ./cmd/uzomuzo update-spdx

Rules & Docs

  • Coding: .claude/rules/coding-standards.md, .claude/rules/copilot-learned-coding.md, .claude/rules/project-conventions.md
  • Language: English only (source + docs). See .claude/rules/language-policy.md
  • Other agents: root AGENTS.md (generated from .github/AGENTS.base.md) is the Codex CLI entry point — see .claude/rules/instruction-sync.md
  • Docs: docs/data-flow.md, docs/development.md, docs/library-usage.md, docs/purl-identity-model.md, docs/license-resolution.md

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
