capsule-mcp CLAUDE.md

capsule-mcp CLAUDE.md is an instructions file for coding agents from fuzzylabs/capsule-mcp. It costs 1,520 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

Project instructions for a read-only Capsule CRM server built with FastMCP and FastAPI. Capsule CRM is a customer-management system, and the server exposes its data to AI tools through the Model Context Protocol.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use them when working on this repository to install dependencies, run tests, start the HTTP development server, or run the MCP server directly. The documented CRM access is read-only.
Why use it?
They provide the commands and project context needed to test, run, and develop the server. They also distinguish direct local communication from HTTP access for development and testing.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.01520 $0.01520
Opus 5 $0.00760 $0.00760
Sonnet 5 $0.00304 $0.00304
Haiku 4.5 $0.00152 $0.00152

Security

Grade A, and why

capsule-mcp CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 4d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Project Overview

This is a Capsule CRM MCP (Model Context Protocol) server that exposes Capsule CRM API endpoints as AI tools. It's built using FastMCP framework with FastAPI backend and provides read-only access to Capsule CRM data.

The server can run in two modes:

  • stdio mode: For direct integration with Claude Desktop and other MCP clients
  • HTTP mode: For testing and development via REST endpoints

Development Commands

Testing

uv run pytest # Run all tests
uv run pytest tests/test_server.py::test_list_contacts # Run specific test
uv run pytest -v # Verbose output

Development Server (HTTP mode)

uv run uvicorn capsule_mcp.server:app --reload # Start dev server at http://localhost:8000/mcp/

MCP Server (stdio mode)

uv run python capsule_mcp/server.py # Run as MCP server via stdio

Installation

uv sync # Install dependencies and create virtual environment
uv sync --dev # Install with dev dependencies (black, isort, pytest, ruff)

Architecture

Core Components

  • capsule_mcp/server.py: Main server implementation containing all MCP tools and FastAPI application
  • capsule_request(): Centralized HTTP client for Capsule CRM API calls with auth and error handling
  • FastMCP framework: Handles MCP protocol implementation and tool registration
  • Tool functions: Each decorated with @mcp.tool to expose Capsule CRM endpoints

Key Patterns

  1. Tool Structure: All tools follow the pattern of accepting pagination parameters (page, per_page) and optional filtering (since for date filtering)

  2. API Client: The capsule_request() function handles:

    • Bearer token authentication via CAPSULE_API_TOKEN env var
    • Request/response processing and error handling
    • Test mode fallback (uses "test-token" when PYTEST_CURRENT_TEST is set)

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

capsule-mcp CLAUDE.md is an instructions file published in the GitHub repository fuzzylabs/capsule-mcp (4 stars, last pushed 1y ago), licensed MIT. It adds 1,520 tokens to every session, about $0.0076 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
