cookbook: Instructions file for Claude Code

CLAUDE.md

cookbook CLAUDE.md is an instructions file for Claude Code from fw-ai/cookbook. It costs 270 tokens per session, scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

Repository instructions for a cookbook of ready-to-run Fireworks Training API examples. The examples use the Fireworks Python SDK to train and deploy models, including supervised fine-tuning, preference training, and other training workflows.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when changing or running training recipes, configuring trainers and deployments, handling checkpoints or hot-loading, or debugging compatibility between the cookbook and its SDK.
Why use it?
It keeps code and documentation aligned with the project’s training protocol, checkpoint, deployment, region, and SDK rules, reducing errors caused by outdated instructions.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00270 $0.00270
Opus 5 $0.00135 $0.00135
Sonnet 5 $0.00054 $0.00054
Haiku 4.5 $0.00027 $0.00027

Security

Grade A, and why

cookbook CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 7d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Fireworks Training Cookbook

Ready-to-run Training API recipes built on the Fireworks Python SDK (fireworks.training.sdk). Only training/ is relevant -- ignore other top-level directories.

Skills:

  • skills/fireworks-training/ — the single training skill for managed SFT/DPO/ORPO/RFT and Training API serverless or dedicated workflows. The root skill owns routing, confirmation, and lifecycle; progressive references cover cookbook recipes, SDK internals, resume, deployment, and debugging.

Protocol changes: Any change to the Training API SDK, Tinker protocol, trainer/deployment payloads, checkpoint semantics, hotload flow, optimizer-step semantics, or recipe/SDK compatibility contract must update the relevant skill docs in skills/. Update or delete stale guidance so agents do not preserve outdated protocol behavior.

Region placement: Cookbook config classes retain an explicit region field for compatibility with existing runners, but cookbook code must not add deployment_region, hard-code default regions, infer region from accelerator/shape, or copy a trainer region into a hot-load deployment. Leave unset values unset so the backend RLOR trainer/deployment gateway can select defaults and enforce colocation.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
