caracal: Instructions file for GitHub Copilot

.github/instructions/sdk-language-parity.instructions.md

caracal sdk-language-parity.instructions.md is an instructions file for GitHub Copilot from Garudex-Labs/caracal. It costs 472 tokens per session, scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

A rule set for keeping TypeScript, Python, and Go client packages functionally equivalent. These are programming languages, and parity means they provide the same capabilities and network behavior even when their code uses language-specific patterns.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when adding, changing, or reviewing SDK, admin, identity, OAuth, revocation, verification, adapter, or backend packages and their tests.
Why use it?
It prevents users of one language's SDK from receiving fewer features, different errors, or different reliability and security behavior than users of the others.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00472 $0.00472
Opus 5 $0.00236 $0.00236
Sonnet 5 $0.00094 $0.00094
Haiku 4.5 $0.00047 $0.00047

Security

Grade A, and why

caracal sdk-language-parity.instructions.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 10d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

SDK Language Parity

  • Applies to the multi-language client packages: packages/sdk, packages/admin, packages/core, packages/identity, packages/oauth, packages/revocation, packages/verify, packages/adapters, and packages/backends. TypeScript, Python, and Go are equal first-class SDK languages.

Required

  • Must keep core capabilities functionally equivalent across TypeScript, Python, and Go: features, helpers, abstractions, lifecycle behavior, retry behavior, transports, credential management, and convenience APIs.
  • Must implement each capability with the language's idiomatic, industry-standard patterns and built-in primitives; equivalence is functional, not literal translation.
  • Must keep wire behavior identical across languages: paths, methods, query encoding, request bodies, response unwrapping, error codes, and error messages.
  • Must keep reliability, security guarantees, and developer experience functionally equivalent across languages.
  • When adding or changing a capability in one language, must port it to the other two languages in the same change.
  • Must add equivalent tests in every language that receives a capability.
  • Must keep SDK surfaces thin, framework-agnostic, and designed to minimize customer-written glue code.
  • Framework adapters must stay thin per-ecosystem layers that delegate governance logic to the shared verification engine.

Forbidden

  • Must not land a capability, helper, or fix in one language while leaving the other languages behind.
  • Must not treat any language as a second-class citizen through reduced scope, weaker guarantees, or delayed ports.
  • Must not diverge retry policies, error semantics, or security behavior between languages.
  • Must not introduce a language-specific capability that cannot be expressed idiomatically in the other two languages.
  • Must not compensate for missing parity with documentation, examples, or customer glue code.
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
