agentic-release-governance-platform: Instructions file for GitHub Copilot

.github/instructions/release-assistant.instructions.md

agentic-release-governance-platform release-assistant.instructions.md is an instructions file for GitHub Copilot from ggarciasoft/agentic-release-governance-platform. It costs 173 tokens per session, scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

Project instructions for building a release-management application that connects code changes, pipelines, and release documents. They define how its agents, service adapter, configuration, validation, and approvals should work.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use them when developing features for release governance, Azure DevOps integration, release-document generation, approval workflows, audit logs, and configurable application-to-pipeline mappings.
Why use it?
They reduce the risk of incorrect releases, hidden missing data, hardcoded deployment details, and undocumented production changes.

Instructions file for GitHub Copilot

Written for GitHub Copilot: a Copilot instructions file.

This is ggarciasoft/agentic-release-governance-platform's own configuration. It tells GitHub Copilot how to work on agentic-release-governance-platform itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00173 $0.00173
Opus 5 $0.00086 $0.00086
Sonnet 5 $0.00035 $0.00035
Haiku 4.5 $0.00017 $0.00017

Security

Grade A, and why

agentic-release-governance-platform release-assistant.instructions.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 7d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Release Assistant Coding Instructions

When building this project, follow these instructions:

  • Implement Copilot agents as .agent.md files under .github/agents.
  • Implement the custom MCP server as a thin adapter over application services.
  • Keep validation deterministic.
  • Treat Azure DevOps as source of truth.
  • Do not hardcode Azure DevOps organizations, projects, PATs, or pipeline names.
  • Keep app-to-repo/pipeline mapping configurable.
  • Every MCP tool must validate input and return structured errors.
  • Every release document must be generated from a structured release package.
  • Never edit release document Markdown files directly; use save_release_document or the API document endpoints to persist generated content.
  • Missing data must be explicit, not hidden.
  • Production-impacting actions require human confirmation and audit logs.
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
