langsmith-cli CLAUDE.md

langsmith-cli CLAUDE.md is an instructions file for coding agents from gigaverse-app/langsmith-cli. It costs 9,358 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

Repository instructions for langsmith-cli, a command-line tool for working with LangSmith, a service for developing and monitoring language-model applications. They cover setup, commands, testing, and how the tool is organized.

In plain words
What is it for?
Installing dependencies, running tests and checks, understanding the command-line tool, and working with its Claude Code integration.
Why use it?
They give coding agents the project context and repeatable commands needed to make changes without guessing how the repository works.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.09358 $0.09358
Opus 5 $0.04679 $0.04679
Sonnet 5 $0.01872 $0.01872
Haiku 4.5 $0.00936 $0.00936

Measured 3d ago against content hash 89b5bed44eab, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-08-30, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

langsmith-cli CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 3d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Project Overview

langsmith-cli is a context-efficient CLI tool for LangSmith that serves as both a standalone developer tool and a Claude Code plugin. It replaces heavy MCP servers with lightweight, on-demand skills while providing 100% feature parity plus superior features.

To understand how to use this tool, read the skill definition at skills/langsmith/SKILL.md and its reference files under skills/langsmith/references/. The skill teaches agents how to use the CLI efficiently (cache-first workflow, mandatory flags, field pruning, etc.).

Key Design Philosophy:

  • Lazy Loading: Heavy imports (langsmith, rich) only load when commands execute
  • Context Efficiency: Field pruning (--fields) reduces token usage by ~90%
  • Dual UX: Rich tables for humans, strict JSON for agents
  • Type Safety: Strict SDK contracts, no stringly-typed logic (in progress)

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
