ras-commander-mcp: Instructions file for Codex

AGENTS.md

ras-commander-mcp AGENTS.md is an instructions file for Codex, OpenCode from gpt-cmdr/ras-commander-mcp. It costs 335 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

A repository instruction file for an information server that exposes limited project and plan data. It defines which data access is allowed, how paths and outputs must be checked, and how compatibility changes are handled.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when changing the server, its project-query tools, compatibility automation, or its integration with the RAS Commander APIs.
Why use it?
It prevents the server from performing unsafe project operations, reading arbitrary files, installing packages during requests, or mixing logs with its machine-readable messages.

Instructions file for CodexOpenCode

Written for Codex and OpenCode: the file is AGENTS.md. Also seen: mentions subagents.

This is gpt-cmdr/ras-commander-mcp's own configuration. It tells Codex and OpenCode how to work on ras-commander-mcp itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Copy it as a starting point and replace the rules that are about this project. Everything ras-commander-mcp configures →

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00335 $0.00335
Opus 5.5 $0.00134 $0.00134
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00067 $0.00067
Haiku 4.5 $0.00034 $0.00034

Security

Grade A, and why

ras-commander-mcp AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 20d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

RAS Commander MCP agent contract

This repository implements a constrained information server. Domain parsing belongs in published ras-commander APIs; add missing read APIs upstream rather than copying parsers into this adapter.

  • Project queries read only approved project/plan text snapshots. Never initialize RasPrj, resolve an engine, accept TCU, open HDF/DSS/geometry/raster data, execute, modify a project, export data, or expose arbitrary Python/shell/file reads.
  • Require configured roots, descriptor-safe path checks, approved file kinds, byte/output limits and typed structured results. Annotations are only hints.
  • Project tools are exposed only to bounded informational subagents. A host that cannot isolate project tools must use a scoped Python workflow instead. The server cannot attest whether its caller is a subagent.
  • Preserve installed user pins. Report version drift; never pip-install during a tool call. Compatibility automation opens reviewable update PRs, never publishes.
  • Keep stdout for MCP messages and logs on stderr. Start with stdio only.
  • Follow repository writing guidance in ras-commander's cognitive infrastructure: factual independent voice, HEC terminology and passive official references, direct statements about supported project capabilities and observations. These rules govern repository contributions, not users' external deliverables.
  • Read current public APIs and inspect wheel/sdist metadata before changing dependency bounds. No old tool aliases or binary fallback modes.

See architecture, migration, and compatibility maintenance. Tests require task authorization.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
