notnessie: Instructions file for Claude Code

CLAUDE.md

notnessie CLAUDE.md is an instructions file for Claude Code from GreXLin85/notnessie. It costs 229 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

Project instructions that use NotNessie, a project-memory service, to store and retrieve lasting information about the codebase.

In plain words
What is it for?
They are for loading context before substantial work and saving decisions, constraints, preferences, verified commands, and task summaries.
Why use it?
They keep project facts, decisions, and rules in one shared memory system instead of scattered local notes, while telling the agent to trust current code over outdated memory.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00229 $0.00229
Opus 5 $0.00114 $0.00114
Sonnet 5 $0.00046 $0.00046
Haiku 4.5 $0.00023 $0.00023

Measured 7d ago against content hash 6c4ef6ec70ab, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-08, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

notnessie CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 7d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Project memory — use NotNessie

This repo's memory lives in the NotNessie MCP server (notnessie). Use the notnessie_* tools for all project memory; never put project facts in built-in or local memory.

  • Before non-trivial work: call notnessie_get_project_context (pass the task); use notnessie_search_memory for a specific module, bug, or API.
  • On a durable fact, rule, correction, or "remember"/"save": map to one tool — notnessie_save_decision ("we decided…"), notnessie_save_constraint ("never/always/don't…"), notnessie_save_preference ("prefer…"), notnessie_save_verified_command (a command you confirmed works), notnessie_save_task_summary (end of meaningful work).
  • Code wins over memory — follow the code and flag stale notes. Never store secrets or .env contents.
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
