rosetta AGENTS.md

Project instructions for Rosetta, a set of reusable extensions and guidance for AI coding agents working in other code repositories. It describes a monorepo, meaning one repository containing several related components, and explains how agents load its instructions.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when developing Rosetta itself or configuring its instructions for agents such as Claude Code, Codex, Copilot, or Cursor, including its plugins, tools, workflows, and repository modes.
Why use it?
It gives developers a shared structure for using Rosetta’s plugins, tools, skills, and rules across different coding agents. It also clarifies which architecture and context documents agents must read.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00270 $0.00270
Opus 5 $0.00135 $0.00135
Sonnet 5 $0.00054 $0.00054
Haiku 4.5 $0.00027 $0.00027

Security

Grade A, and why

rosetta AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured yesterday.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Main goal: cover E2E AI PDLC engineering workflows at foundation level for AI-First SDLC in enterprise. Top-level or orchestrator agents MUST READ docs/ARCHITECTURE.md contains technical details and guidance, and docs/CONTEXT.md - business context. Subagents - when needed. Monorepo with multiple solution components in src and golden instructions in instructions. R3 is current, R2 is KTLO. Defines reusable plugins/mcp for AI coding agents (claude code, codex, copilot, cursor, antigravity, etc) which users (engineers, developers) invoke on THEIR target repositories. instructions folder contains AI coding agent instructions for another repository (skills, subagents, rules, workflows), it is not documentation.

How it works:

  1. User installs Rosetta plugin(s) xor mcp.
  2. On any user session start: AI Coding Agents load instructions/r3/core/rules/bootstrap-alwayson.md and one mode-specific file (plugin-files-mode.md, mcp-files-mode.md, local-files-mode.md).
  3. User uses / or $ commands to do his work on his repo with any or all our instructions (skills, subagents, workflows, rules).
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
