despezzas-mcp: Instructions file for Codex

AGENTS.md

despezzas-mcp AGENTS.md is an instructions file for Codex, OpenCode from guipmilek/despezzas-mcp. It costs 651 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

Repository instructions for an unofficial Python server that exposes personal finance data through MCP tools. They cover the project layout, required documentation, security rules, data formats, and safeguards for actions that change data.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use them when changing the server, its tools, tests, authentication, documentation, or deployment; read the required project guidance and protect all sensitive or destructive operations.
Why use it?
They help an agent avoid exposing financial information, mishandling money or dates, bypassing confirmations, or deploying the server in an unsupported way.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00651 $0.00651
Opus 5 $0.00326 $0.00326
Sonnet 5 $0.00130 $0.00130
Haiku 4.5 $0.00065 $0.00065

Security

Grade A, and why

despezzas-mcp AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 9d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Despezzas MCP - Agent Instructions

Project

Unofficial Python/FastMCP server for Despezzas personal finance data. Source lives under src/despezzas_mcp/; tests live under tests/. Remote deployment is Prefect Horizon only.

Mandatory rules

  1. Read llms.txt before non-trivial changes.
  2. Keep every write/destructive tool gated by confirm: true.
  3. Keep output schemas and all four MCP behavior annotations explicit and accurate.
  4. Non-GET despezzas_raw_api calls also require allow_destructive: true.
  5. Never commit .env, credentials, sessions, HARs, API responses, or finance data.
  6. Use integer cents for money and YYYY-MM-DD dates.
  7. Never accept Despezzas passwords as MCP tool arguments.
  8. Reuse helpers in helpers.py, client.py, and auth.py.
  9. Update docs and llms.txt when architecture, commands, tools, or security change.
  10. Keep remote deployment and documentation Prefect Horizon-only.
  11. Do not add persistent session storage or multi-user credentials without an explicit request.

Workflow

For non-trivial changes:

  1. Check .agents/session-checkpoint.md; read it if present.
  2. Run git status --short and confirm the workspace.
  3. Read docs/agent-playbook.md and, for architecture changes, docs/agent-architecture-map.md.
  4. Use CodeGraph before broad source scans; use rg for exact text.
  5. Preserve unrelated tracked and untracked files.

If a checkpoint is needed, write .agents/session-checkpoint.md with goal, evidence, blocker, next command, and verification. It is ignored and must not be committed.

Ownership

  • server.py: FastMCP instance and entrypoint.
  • tools.py: public tool schemas, handlers, annotations, and confirmation guards.
  • client.py: endpoint mapping, request headers, parsing, and 401 retry.
  • auth.py: Despezzas/Firebase login, refresh, and in-memory session lock.
  • helpers.py: redaction, preparation, profile context, and summaries.
  • tests/: catalog and behavior checks.
  • docs/deployment.md: Prefect Horizon instructions.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
