AriaAI: Instructions file for Codex

AGENTS.md

AriaAI AGENTS.md is an instructions file for Codex, OpenCode from guoliang1114-boop/AriaAI. It costs 531 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

A project guide for AriaAI, an application whose native services manage projects, clients, memory, tasks, permissions, and audit records.

In plain words
What is it for?
It guides development work, architecture changes, event handling, permissions, and safe integration of open-source code.
Why use it?
It sets boundaries for how coding-agent tools may interact with the application and helps preserve its authorization and event contracts.

Written for Codex and OpenCode: the file is AGENTS.md. Also seen: mentions Codex.

This is guoliang1114-boop/AriaAI's own configuration. It tells Codex and OpenCode how to work on AriaAI itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Copy it as a starting point and replace the rules that are about this project. Everything AriaAI configures →

Needs its repository: it reads a path above its own folder, which exists only inside the repository. The line is cd ../web.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00531 $0.00531
Opus 5 $0.00266 $0.00266
Sonnet 5 $0.00106 $0.00106
Haiku 4.5 $0.00053 $0.00053

Security

Grade A, and why

AriaAI AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 10d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

AriaAI Agent Guide

This file is the Codex entry point for the repository. Read agent.md before changing code; it is the complete project guide and remains the source of truth for repository layout, architecture, deployment, and collaboration rules.

Working contract

  • Preserve user changes and unrelated work. Never discard a dirty worktree.
  • Keep product/domain state and execution control in AriaAI. Projects, clients, memory, tasks, artifacts, approvals, permissions, and audit history always belong to Aria's native services.
  • Treat backend/app/services/chat/product_run_events.py as the backend run event contract and web/src/types/productRunEvent.ts as its frontend mirror.
  • Route consequential writes through AriaAI authorization and HITAS. A model, provider, or filesystem-sandbox decision is not business authorization.
  • Do not add a Codex App Server, Codex SDK, Codex subprocess, or Codex protocol dependency to the Aria application runtime. Codex may be used as a developer tool, but Aria does not communicate with Codex in production.
  • When adapting useful open-source implementations, port the smallest cohesive mechanism into Aria's language and architecture. Record its upstream commit, source path, license, attribution, and Aria modifications. Keep the current model-provider paths intact and verify behavior with focused tests.

Development loop

  • Backend commands run from backend/ with backend/.venv/bin/python when the checked-in virtual environment exists.
  • Frontend commands run from web/.
  • Add focused tests with every behavioral change. Run focused tests first, then the broader affected suite.
  • Database changes require an idempotent Alembic revision with exactly one migration head. Do not rely only on SQLModel.metadata.create_all.
  • Update the relevant design or operations document when changing a public event, runtime boundary, approval flow, data model, or deployment contract.

Useful checks

cd backend
.venv/bin/python -m pytest -q tests/test_agent_harness_native.py
.venv/bin/python -m pytest -q tests/test_product_run_events.py

cd ../web
npm test -- --run src/stores/runActivityReducer.test.ts
npm run build

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
