oh-my-harness: Instructions file for Codex

AGENTS.md

oh-my-harness AGENTS.md is an instructions file for Codex, OpenCode from guoxiaoshuai2023/oh-my-harness. It costs 1,298 tokens per session, scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

Repository instructions for Oh My Harness, a system that routes coding work through selected checks and supporting capabilities.

In plain words
What is it for?
They are for deciding which checks a task needs, preserving existing work, documenting the task and design, and enforcing the project's hard gates.
Why use it?
They set project-wide limits on scope, secrets, external actions, and unfinished work before implementation begins.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.01298 $0.01298
Opus 5 $0.00649 $0.00649
Sonnet 5 $0.00260 $0.00260
Haiku 4.5 $0.00130 $0.00130

Security

Grade A, and why

oh-my-harness AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 12d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

oh-my-harness Repo Router

This is the repository router for oh-my-harness. The default is one adaptive, main-thread-controlled Harness: task facts select the smallest useful subset of nine optional capabilities while every triggered gate remains owned and evidenced. LOW semantic-risk mechanical work stays direct and lightweight.

Always-On Hard Gates

  • Do not expand scope, redesign, refactor, format, clean up, or repair adjacent issues unless the accepted task explicitly requires it.
  • Do not read, output, save, or modify secrets, credentials, tokens, cookies, localStorage, payment, billing, permission, keys, private environment values, or other sensitive material.
  • Do not perform external writes, publish, destructive change, migration, permission/payment/key action, bulk write, or irreversible action unless the exact target/effect is scoped, a plan or dry-run precedes it, and required confirmation is explicit.
  • Do not add dependencies unless necessary and explicitly approved.
  • Preserve user work. Baseline a dirty worktree and distinguish pre-existing changes before claiming scope compliance.
  • Every changed line must trace to the request, accepted Task/Design, main-issued Boundary, or a necessary consequence.
  • Never fabricate evidence, validation, review, readback, external action, or completion.
  • Never claim completion without proportional validation. Passing tests are evidence, not proof of all real-world behavior.

Routing Table

Read a routed document only when its factual trigger applies. Traceability artifacts are evidence, not route-table entries.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
