sftp-manager: Instructions file for Claude Code

CLAUDE.md

sftp-manager CLAUDE.md is an instructions file for Claude Code from Gus2708/sftp-manager. It costs 511 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

Project instructions for sftp-manager, a program that gives an AI agent restricted access to game servers through SFTP, a file-transfer protocol.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use them when installing, starting, verifying, or modifying sftp-manager in Claude Code.
Why use it?
They explain the repository’s setup, safety rules, and checks so the agent can work with the server without guessing how it should be installed or used.

This is Gus2708/sftp-manager's own configuration. It tells Claude Code how to work on sftp-manager itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Copy it as a starting point and replace the rules that are about this project. Everything sftp-manager configures →

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00511 $0.00511
Opus 5 $0.00255 $0.00255
Sonnet 5 $0.00102 $0.00102
Haiku 4.5 $0.00051 $0.00051

Measured 6d ago against content hash 81166d767817, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-06, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

sftp-manager CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 6d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

CLAUDE.md

Read AGENTS.md first. It is the full playbook for this repo: install procedure, safety rules when operating the tools, and the conventions for changing the code. This file only carries the Claude Code specifics.

What this is

sftp-manager is a stdio MCP server that gives an AI agent sandboxed SFTP access to game servers (Pterodactyl / TaroHosting panels). The deliverable is one process:

<python> <repo>/mcp_server.py

Installing it

python install_mcp.py doctor # diagnose + prove the server boots

Follow the siguiente_paso field it reports. The full sequence — checkdepsinitinstall <client>verify — is documented in AGENTS.md.

This repo ships a project-scoped .mcp.json, so opening this folder with Claude Code is enough — approve the server when prompted and confirm with /mcp. That file uses a bare python command, which works when the interpreter is on PATH. If the server fails to start, replace it with an absolute path:

python install_mcp.py install claude-code --force

To register it for every project instead of just this one:

claude mcp add sftp-manager --scope user -- /absolute/path/to/python /absolute/path/to/mcp_server.py

Before you touch anything

  • python -m pytest — 206 tests, no network. Run it before and after changes.
  • Never commit servers.json or .env (both git-ignored, both hold live credentials).
  • Never ask the user to paste a password into the chat. Edit servers.json with ${VAR} references and tell them which variable to set in .env themselves.
  • Adding a tool takes six steps and tests/test_tools.py enforces all of them — see AGENTS.md.

Language

Code, comments and tool names are in Spanish (the tool names are the stable public API). User-facing documentation is in English. Match the file you are editing.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
