logseq-api-mcp: Instructions file for Claude Code

CLAUDE.md

logseq-api-mcp CLAUDE.md is an instructions file for Claude Code from gustavo-meilus/logseq-api-mcp. It costs 2,187 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

Development instructions for an MCP server that lets AI assistants read and change Logseq knowledge bases. Logseq is a note-taking tool that stores linked pages and outlines; the instructions describe the server's modules and automatic tool registration.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use them when adding or changing Logseq actions, the Python server, API connection, Markdown parsing, configuration, or automatic discovery of tools.
Why use it?
They explain how Logseq access, content parsing, privacy, errors, and tool discovery fit together, so contributors can work in the right places.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.02187 $0.02187
Opus 5 $0.01094 $0.01094
Sonnet 5 $0.00437 $0.00437
Haiku 4.5 $0.00219 $0.00219

Security

Grade A, and why

logseq-api-mcp CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 7d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Project Overview

This is a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that gives AI assistants access to Logseq knowledge bases. It ships 21 standard tools (read + write), all discovered and registered automatically.

Key Innovation: Zero-configuration tool management — drop a .py file into src/tools/ and it is auto-discovered, imported, and registered with the MCP server.

    ├── formatters/ # Pure formatter functions (pages.py, blocks.py, search.py)
└── *.py # 21 tool modules — one public async function each

Dynamic Tool Discovery

  1. src/tools/__init__.py uses importlib to import every *.py file in src/tools/ (skipping _* and formatters/).
  2. It adds any function where obj.__module__ == module.__name__ to __all__.
  3. src/registry.py iterates tools.__all__ and calls mcp_server.tool()(fn) for each.

Critical rule: A tool function must be defined in its own file — not imported from another module — for dynamic discovery to pick it up.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
