claude-db: Instructions file for Claude Code

CLAUDE.md

claude-db CLAUDE.md is an instructions file for Claude Code from Hainrixz/claude-db. It costs 1,319 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

Repository instructions for claude-db, a Claude Code plugin that helps with database schema design, database audits, and migration planning. A schema describes how data is organized, while a migration changes that structure safely.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use them when developing claude-db so the agent can choose its database commands, detect the project’s database approach, run read-only audits, plan migrations, and produce reports.
Why use it?
They give the coding agent the project’s architecture, required workflow, available skills, and rules such as keeping separate audit scores from different dimensions.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.01319 $0.01319
Opus 5 $0.00660 $0.00660
Sonnet 5 $0.00264 $0.00264
Haiku 4.5 $0.00132 $0.00132

Security

Grade A, and why

claude-db CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 7d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

CLAUDE.md — working on claude-db

Project instructions for Claude Code when developing this repository. claude-db is a Claude Code plugin that turns Claude into a senior, multi-paradigm database expert: design a new schema, audit an existing one on two independent axes, and plan safe migrations.

Architecture (skill-first, three layers)

Claude is the runtime; the Node/Python scripts are optional accelerators, never required.

  1. Directive skillsskills/<name>/SKILL.md becomes /claude-db:<name>. The 10 commands: start, design, audit, explain, migrate, fix, next, score, seed, checklist. There is no engine or recommend command — M0 engine selection is delivered by design and start.
  2. Orchestrationskills/db-orchestrator detects the stack/paradigm (scripts/detect-stack.mjs), builds the shared schema snapshot (scripts/parse-schema.mjs, scripts/parse-orm-python.py), dispatches the read-only auditor subagents in parallel (multiple Task calls in one message), merges findings, runs scripts/score.mjs, and renders the report.
  3. Module skillsskills/db-*/SKILL.md, modules M0–M22. M0 (db-engine-selection) is an advisory recommendation and is not scored; M1–M22 are scored. Each module declares which axis it feeds: design, performance, or both.

Agents (agents/<name>.md)

  • Read-only auditors: tools Read, Grep, Glob, Bash, WebFetch, model sonnet. They emit a JSON array of findings conforming to schema/finding.schema.json. Read-only by tool allowlist.
  • Writer (db-migration-writer): tools Read, Edit, Write, Bash. Only reachable via /claude-db:fix.

The two-score model (never blend)

Two independent 0–100 scores with A–F bands: Design & Integrity (design) and Performance & Scale (performance). A finding's expected_impact.axis routes it into the category that owns its module in each axis independently. Severity gating caps a score at F on a severity:5 fail for that axis; needs_api and speculative findings never cap. The detected paradigm swaps the category profile (scripts/score.mjsPROFILES) so each axis still sums to 100. The full model lives in references/scoring-model.md — conform to it, do not silently change weights.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
