scriveno AGENTS.md

scriveno AGENTS.md is an instructions file for Codex, OpenCode from hannsxpeter/scriveno. It costs 4,411 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

Project instructions for Scriveno, a writing and publishing pipeline used inside AI coding agents. They describe its workflows, supported document types, architecture, and rules for preserving a writer’s style.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use them when developing Scriveno or extending its drafting, translation, illustration, and document-export workflows.
Why use it?
They give an agent the project’s constraints and conventions before it changes code or content. This helps avoid breaking existing commands, templates, or the style-profiling process.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.04411 $0.04411
Opus 5 $0.02205 $0.02205
Sonnet 5 $0.00882 $0.00882
Haiku 4.5 $0.00441 $0.00441

Security

Grade A, and why

scriveno AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 5d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Project

Scriveno

Scriveno is a spec-driven writing, publishing, and translation pipeline that runs inside AI coding agents (Codex, Cursor, Gemini CLI). It covers the full lifecycle from blank page to publication-ready manuscript or technical document set -- including voice profiling, adaptive work types, autonomous drafting, illustration, translation, and multi-format export. Supports 50 work types with tradition-native vocabulary (novels use chapters, screenplays use acts, runbooks use procedures, Quran commentaries use surahs).

Core Value: Drafted prose sounds like the writer, not like AI. The Voice DNA system profiles the writer across 15+ dimensions and loads that profile into every drafter agent invocation. If voice fidelity breaks, trust breaks, and no other feature matters.

Constraints

  • Architecture: Must remain a pure skill/command system -- no compiled code, no runtime dependencies beyond Node.js for the installer
  • Voice fidelity: Every feature must preserve the Voice DNA pipeline -- fresh context per atomic unit, STYLE-GUIDE.md loaded first
  • Backward compatibility: Existing commands and templates must continue working as new features are added
  • Plan authority: If a command file contradicts the product plan, fix the command -- plan is canonical (section 15 for command specs)
  • Progressive disclosure: Onboarding asks 3 questions max; depth is optional and additive
  • Runtime credibility: >=20.0.0 is the installer compatibility floor. For new installs, prefer a currently supported LTS such as Node.js 24. docs/runtime-support.md is the canonical runtime matrix, and installer targets are not interchangeable proof of host-runtime parity.

Technology Stack

Architecture Constraint

  • Export tools are external CLI binaries the agent invokes via shell, not npm dependencies
  • The agent generates intermediate files (markdown, HTML, Typst) then calls converters
  • Scriveno's package.json stays dependency-free; tools are prerequisites the user installs
  • The installer (bin/install.js) should detect and guide installation of prerequisites

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
