spaceship-mcp: Instructions file for Codex

AGENTS.md

spaceship-mcp AGENTS.md is an instructions file for Codex, OpenCode from hlebtkachenko/spaceship-mcp. It costs 336 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

Repository instructions for a TypeScript server that connects coding tools to the Spaceship domain registrar API. They describe commands, project structure, API contract checks, confirmations for risky actions, and testing rules.

In plain words
What is it for?
They guide changes to domain, DNS, contact, transfer, and SellerHub tools, including builds, tests, API contract validation, and tool registration.
Why use it?
They reduce the chance of sending invalid API requests, performing unconfirmed destructive or paid actions, or leaving tests and documentation out of sync.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00336 $0.00336
Opus 5.5 $0.00134 $0.00134
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00067 $0.00067
Haiku 4.5 $0.00034 $0.00034

Security

Grade A, and why

spaceship-mcp AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 22d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

AGENTS.md

MCP server for the Spaceship domain registrar API (domains, DNS, contacts, transfers, SellerHub). TypeScript, Node 22+, stdio transport. Layout and design: ARCHITECTURE.md.

Commands

npm ci
npm run build            # tsc -> dist/
npm test # build + node:test suite (fake Spaceship API, no credentials)
npm run check:contract # validate every tool's request and the fake API's responses against the Spaceship OpenAPI spec

Rules

  • Any change to a request a tool sends must pass npm run check:contract. Look up field names in the spec (.spec-cache/spaceship-openapi.json after the first run), not in memory.
  • Every tool has MCP annotations. Tools that spend money or delete take confirm: CONFIRM (src/utils.ts).
  • Never auto-retry POST/PATCH on timeout or network error: the client reports "outcome unknown" instead. Keep it that way.
  • Canned responses in test/helpers.mjs must follow the spec's response schemas; check:contract validates them.
  • New tools: register in src/index.ts, add a request case to test/tools.test.mjs and a row to the README tools table (a test checks the README against the registered tools).
  • Synthetic data only in tests and docs: example.com, 192.0.2.x, placeholder contact IDs. Never commit credentials; configuration is env-only.
  • No live API calls in tests or scripts.
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
