DevVerse-SWE-Blog: Instructions file for Claude Code

CLAUDE.md

DevVerse-SWE-Blog CLAUDE.md is an instructions file for Claude Code from hoangsonww/DevVerse-SWE-Blog. It costs 1,140 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

A set of Claude Code instructions for a specific software repository. It records which files are authoritative, how the project is organized, important design rules, and commands for working safely.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to guide changes in a Next.js and React application with MDX content, article retrieval, and chat-related code.
Why use it?
It gives a coding agent project-specific context that it would not know from the repository structure alone. The rules help avoid stale documentation, broad risky changes, and accidental exposure of secret values.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.01140 $0.01140
Opus 5 $0.00570 $0.00570
Sonnet 5 $0.00228 $0.00228
Haiku 4.5 $0.00114 $0.00114

Security

Grade A, and why

DevVerse-SWE-Blog CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 3d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Operating Rules

  • Treat content/*.mdx as the canonical article store. The checked-in SQL article schemas are not the runtime source of content.
  • Prefer code over README when they conflict. Several README sections are stale.
  • Keep changes narrow. This repo has duplicate metadata parsers and several UI/data contracts that are easy to break with broad refactors.
  • Do not read or print secret values from .env or .env.*. Use .env.example for the expected variable names.
  • Do not treat npm run lint as a read-only validation step. In this repository it runs npm run format, which mutates files.

Quick Repo Map

  • app/: Next.js App Router routes, API handlers, route-scoped CSS.
  • components/: Reusable React components, much of the page behavior, lots of inline styles.
  • content/: MDX articles. This is the canonical content source.
  • lib/rss.ts: Raw MDX parser for home/feed/related-posts/reading stats.
  • lib/articles.ts: MDX module metadata loader used by favorites.
  • lib/rag.ts: Pinecone + Gemini retrieval and answer generation.
  • lib/rag-local.ts: Local lexical fallback for chat retrieval.
  • lib/chat-citations.ts: Citation parsing/linking shared by chat UI.
  • supabase/: Browser helpers and SQL reference files.
  • scripts/vectorize_articles.mjs: Offline embedding/upsert pipeline for Pinecone.
  • tests/: Jest test suite.

Architecture Invariants

  • Preserve the split between / and /home.
  • / is the landing page and intentionally hides the navbar.
  • /home is the article index.
  • Preserve .mdx-container and the article heading structure. TableOfContents depends on h2 and h3 inside that container.
  • Preserve the dark-mode chain:
    • inline boot script in app/layout.tsx
    • dark class on <html>
    • CSS variables in app/globals.css
    • delayed render in provider/DarkModeProvider.tsx
  • Keep chat response formatting aligned across UI and backend:
    • answer body uses bracket citations
    • backend appends a Sources: section
    • UI strips that section and links citations to the sources array

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
