Diffuse-Native-Apps: Instructions file for GitHub Copilot

.github/copilot-instructions.md

Diffuse-Native-Apps copilot-instructions.md is an instructions file for GitHub Copilot from hoangsonww/Diffuse-Native-Apps. It costs 243 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

Repository instructions for coding agents working on Diffuse-Native-Apps, a local-first set of Apple apps whose data stays on the device. They describe the project structure, coding constraints, and checks to run.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use them when modifying the macOS, iOS, iPadOS, or watchOS apps, shared Swift packages, tests, or command-line tools.
Why use it?
They give an agent the project rules before it changes code, reducing incorrect edits, unwanted dependencies, and broken architecture.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00243 $0.00243
Opus 5.5 $0.00097 $0.00097
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00049 $0.00049
Haiku 4.5 $0.00024 $0.00024

Security

Grade A, and why

Diffuse-Native-Apps copilot-instructions.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured yesterday.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Diffuse is a local-first Apple-platform product. Four native apps (macOS, iOS, iPadOS, watchOS) share one capability-driven domain engine. Snapshots never leave the device.

Before changing code, read AGENTS.md (and the nested AGENTS.md in Packages/Apps/Tests/Tools) and Documentation/README.md. Skills live in .agents/skills/.

Rules:

  • No third-party Swift packages.
  • No signing identities, team IDs, or provisioning profiles.
  • CI produces unsigned artifacts only.
  • Do not add CodeQL, Super-Linter, Scorecard, Semgrep, or similar scanners.
  • Do not add Dependabot, Renovate, or any other dependency bot.
  • Adding a capability must not require edits to the diff engine, storage, search, export, or app screens.
  • Run ./Scripts/format.sh and swift test before finishing.
  • Do not weaken golden fixtures in Fixtures/ to make a test pass.

Dependency direction:

Apps → DiffuseUI → DiffuseCapabilities / DiffuseCore → DiffuseModels
                                                     → DiffuseDiff
                                                     → DiffuseStorage

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
