multi-agent-repo-handoff-skill: Instructions file for Codex

AGENTS.md

multi-agent-repo-handoff-skill AGENTS.md is an instructions file for Codex, OpenCode from hojinlee/multi-agent-repo-handoff-skill. It costs 353 tokens per session, scanned A, a copy of multi-agent-repo-handoff-skill copilot-instructions.md, MIT.

Repository instructions for a project designed for multiple coding agents working in parallel. They define required reading, separate work branches, handoffs, session endings, and files that must not be committed.

In plain words
What is it for?
Starting a worker session, creating and ending a dedicated branch, handing work to another agent, and checking repository safety.
Why use it?
They prevent agents from overwriting each other’s work or exposing secrets and generated data.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00353 $0.00353
Opus 5 $0.00177 $0.00177
Sonnet 5 $0.00071 $0.00071
Haiku 4.5 $0.00035 $0.00035

Measured 10d ago against content hash 968c2926ad90, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-09, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

multi-agent-repo-handoff-skill AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 10d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Origin

95% identical to multi-agent-repo-handoff-skill copilot-instructions.md — 4 lines differ, which has more behind it and is treated as the original. This page carries a canonical link to it rather than competing with it.

What it actually says

Agent Instructions

This repository may be worked on by multiple coding agents. GitHub and repository documents are the source of truth; chat history and local uncommitted changes are not.

First Read

Before changing code, read:

  1. AGENTS.md
  2. WORKLOG.md
  3. TODO.md
  4. docs/WORKERS.md
  5. docs/OPERATING_MODEL.md
  6. docs/HANDOFF.md
  7. docs/WORKER_ONBOARDING.md
  8. Project-specific architecture, data, and test documentation.

Branch Rules

  • Do not work directly on main.
  • Use a dedicated <worker-name>-wip branch.
  • Do not let two workers share a WIP branch concurrently.
  • Completed work should go to main through a PR.

Start

git status --short --branch
scripts/start_worker.sh --branch <worker-name>-wip

End

scripts/end_session.sh --commit -m "Describe completed work" --push

If there are no changes, run:

scripts/end_session.sh

Safety

  • Do not commit .env, API keys, account numbers, tokens, private certificates, raw data, generated reports, or large generated artifacts.
  • Do not run network/data download/live/production commands unless secrets are configured and the user explicitly expects it.
  • scripts/start_worker.sh fetches remotes and fast-forwards the worker branch by default. Update WORKLOG.md, TODO.md, and docs/WORKERS.md after meaningful work.
  • If validation fails, record the exact command and failure before handoff.
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
