astrodeck AGENTS.md

A project instruction file for AstroDeck, an Astro.js component library and starter kit for building websites. It tells coding assistants which project rules and files to consult.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when changing AstroDeck pages, components, styles, layouts, or other code that must follow PROJECT.md and the documented project conventions.
Why use it?
It prevents agents from applying the wrong defaults by making project-specific settings take priority over general guidance.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.07340 $0.07340
Opus 5 $0.03670 $0.03670
Sonnet 5 $0.01468 $0.01468
Haiku 4.5 $0.00734 $0.00734

Security

Grade A, and why

astrodeck AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 2d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

AGENTS.md - AstroDeck Project Guidelines

Single Source of Truth for AI Coding Assistants This file provides guidance to AI agents (Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Codex, etc.) when working with the AstroDeck codebase.

⚠️ IMPORTANT: Project-Specific Customizations

Before following the guidelines below, ALWAYS check PROJECT.md first.

The PROJECT.md file contains project-specific customizations that override these defaults:

  • Custom colors, fonts, and design tokens
  • Brand voice and content guidelines
  • Project-specific rules and workflows
  • Business context and goals

Priority Hierarchy:

  1. PROJECT.md (highest) - Your project-specific instructions
  2. AGENTS.md (this file) - AstroDeck defaults and patterns for AI assistants
  3. README.md - Human-readable documentation (installation, deployment, troubleshooting)
  4. Component documentation - Individual component guidelines

When to consult README.md:

  • README.md is written for humans and provides additional context
  • Useful for understanding deployment options, installation methods, and user-facing documentation
  • Contains detailed explanations of features, troubleshooting guides, and community resources
  • Subordinate to AGENTS.md for AI coding conventions, but valuable for project context

If PROJECT.md says "use vibrant blue for primary color" but this file says "use Astro blue," the PROJECT.md instruction wins.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
