Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5.1 | $0.01273 | $0.01273 |
| Opus 5 | $0.00636 | $0.00636 |
| Sonnet 5 | $0.00255 | $0.00255 |
| Haiku 4.5 | $0.00127 | $0.00127 |
Grade A, and why
carousels-mcp CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 11d ago.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.
How it starts
The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 112 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.
carousels-mcp
MCP server that converts articles, transcripts, and markdown into social media carousels (LinkedIn PDFs, Instagram/Threads PNGs).
Architecture
src/
index.ts — MCP server entry, tool registration (StdioServerTransport)
types.ts — SlideType union (11 types), SlidePlan, CarouselOutput, Platform, PLATFORM_DIMENSIONS
engine/
content-extractor.ts — Splits raw text/markdown into SlidePlan with auto-detection (numbers→stat, ordered lists→steps, emphasis→takeaway, before/after→comparison)
svg-generator.ts — Template-driven SVG generation, one function per slide type, shared helpers for progress bar/swipe arrows
pdf-converter.ts — Puppeteer wrapper (optional dep) for SVG→PDF and SVG→PNG conversion
pdf-merger.ts — pdf-lib merge of individual slide PDFs into single carousel.pdf
text-utils.ts — XML escaping, text wrapping, tspan generation
template-loader.ts — Loads built-in + user JSON templates
output-dir.ts — Resolves output directory (env var → ~/Documents/carousels/YYYY-MM-DD-{slug}/)
tools/
schemas.ts — Zod input schemas for all 5 tools
list-templates.ts — Lists built-in + user custom templates
preview-slides.ts — Content → SlidePlan (no rendering)
render-slides.ts — SlidePlan → SVG + PDF/PNG
create-carousel.ts — Full pipeline: content → plan → render → output
create-template.ts — Creates user brand kit JSON from base template + overrides
templates/
types.ts — CarouselTemplate interface, TemplateSlideLayouts, TemplateTypography
defaults/ — 6 built-in template JSONs
Key patterns
Platform branching
LinkedIn gets PDF output (individual PDFs merged via pdf-lib). Instagram/Threads get PNG output (2x deviceScaleFactor for crisp social images). Platform dimensions are injected into the template before SVG generation:
const dimensions = PLATFORM_DIMENSIONS[platform]; // { width, height }
const templateWithDims = { ...template, dimensions };
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

carousels-mcp CLAUDE.md is an instructions file published in the GitHub repository houtini-ai/carousels-mcp (2 stars, last pushed 5mo ago), licensed MIT. It adds 1,273 tokens to every session, about $0.0064 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
