Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5.1 | $0.00498 | $0.00498 |
| Opus 5 | $0.00249 | $0.00249 |
| Sonnet 5 | $0.00100 | $0.00100 |
| Haiku 4.5 | $0.00050 | $0.00050 |
Grade A, and why
mac-assed-mac-app-skill AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 6d ago.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.
How it starts
The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 52 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.
Repository Instructions
Scope
- This repo packages the
mac-assed-mac-appCodex skill. - The distributable skill is the
skills/directory. - Repo docs, process notes, and maintenance instructions stay at the repo root, not inside
skills/.
Skill Rules
- Keep the skill tightly scoped to desktop macOS app UI.
- Ignore iOS-only, watchOS-only, web-only, and generic product-design advice unless it directly affects a Mac app.
- Preserve the distinction between Mac structure and expressive identity: menus, windows, keyboard, selection, hierarchy first; typography, iconography, motion, custom controls second.
- Do not reintroduce source PDFs, source extraction artifacts, original filenames, or local source paths into the distributable package.
- Keep
skills/SKILL.mdconcise and under roughly 500 lines. - Put detailed guidance in one-level
skills/references/*.mdfiles and link them directly fromskills/SKILL.md. - Update
skills/agents/openai.yamlwhen the skill name, description, or default usage changes.
Editing
- Prefer small, reviewable doc edits.
- If a function, script, or documented workflow changes, update nearby comments and docs in the same change.
- Do not change non-test content only to satisfy a test; adjust the test or stub when that is the real issue.
- Treat unexpected worktree changes as user or other-agent work. Inspect before editing overlapping files; do not revert them without explicit approval.
Verification
Before handoff, run the useful gate for the change:
rg -n "pdftotext|/Users/|\.pdf|source PDFs|original filenames" skills
git diff --check
If a local skill validator exists, run it against skills/ as well. If unavailable, say so.
Install Sync
Installing is separate from editing this repo. When asked to install or refresh the skill, copy skills/. into:
~/.codex/skills/mac-assed-mac-app/
Validate the installed copy when possible. If Codex still uses stale behavior after copying, restart Codex.
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

mac-assed-mac-app-skill AGENTS.md is an instructions file published in the GitHub repository HunterHillegas/mac-assed-mac-app-skill (4 stars, last pushed 1mo ago), licensed MIT. It adds 498 tokens to every session, about $0.0025 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings.
