Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

Grade B, and why
claude-code-tamagotchi CLAUDE.md scanned grade B with 1 finding against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 8d ago.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Architecture Overview
This is a virtual pet (Tamagotchi) that lives in the Claude Code statusline. The pet responds to user interactions through slash commands and tracks its state persistently.
Core Components
-
Entry Point (
src/index.ts): Reads stdin from Claude Code, updates pet state, outputs statusline display. -
Pet Engine (
src/engine/PetEngine.ts): Central orchestrator that manages state updates, animations, and actions. Coordinates between all subsystems. -
State Management (
src/engine/StateManager.ts): Handles persistent state storage in~/.claude/pets/claude-pet-state.json. Tracks stats (hunger, energy, cleanliness, happiness), timestamps, and session data. -
Activity System (
src/engine/ActivitySystem.ts): Applies activity-based decay to pet stats rather than time-based. Stats decrease based on coding session activity. -
Thought System (
src/engine/ThoughtSystem.ts): Generates contextual thoughts based on pet mood, needs, and coding activity. Pulls from 200+ thoughts organized by category insrc/engine/thoughts/. -
AI Feedback System (
src/engine/feedback/FeedbackSystem.ts): NEW - Optional AI-powered system that analyzes Claude Code's behavior and generates contextual pet reactions using Groq LLM API. Monitors conversation transcripts and provides witty observations.
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

claude-code-tamagotchi CLAUDE.md is an instructions file published in the GitHub repository Ido-Levi/claude-code-tamagotchi (435 stars, last pushed 10mo ago), licensed MIT. It adds 1,194 tokens to every session, about $0.0060 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it B with 1 finding (reads agent configuration directories). No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-30.
