eve-skillpacks: Instructions file for Claude Code

CLAUDE.md

eve-skillpacks CLAUDE.md is an instructions file for Claude Code from Incept5/eve-skillpacks. It costs 351 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

A set of instructions for creating and maintaining Eve skill packs, which are collections of reusable instructions for agents working with Eve Horizon.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to sync updates from Eve Horizon, author new skills, maintain public and private skill packs, and record changes.
Why use it?
It explains how to keep those instructions aligned with platform changes and how to structure, write, and install them.

Written for Claude Code: the file is CLAUDE.md.

This is Incept5/eve-skillpacks's own configuration. It tells Claude Code how to work on eve-skillpacks itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Copy it as a starting point and replace the rules that are about this project. Everything eve-skillpacks configures →

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00351 $0.00351
Opus 5 $0.00176 $0.00176
Sonnet 5 $0.00070 $0.00070
Haiku 4.5 $0.00035 $0.00035

Measured 7d ago against content hash 1d1ab69f7155, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-07, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

eve-skillpacks CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 7d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Eve Skillpacks

Public skill packs for Eve Horizon. Keep synced with ../eve-horizon.

Sync Workflow

Run /sync-horizon to pull latest platform changes into skillpacks. This:

  1. Reads eve-horizon git log since .sync-state.json#last_synced_commit
  2. Diffs changed files against .sync-map.json to find affected skills
  3. Updates reference docs and skills
  4. Records the new sync commit hash
  5. Produces a changelog of what was updated

Skill Authoring Rules

  • Skills use YAML frontmatter with name and description
  • Write instructions in imperative form
  • Keep SKILL.md under 5,000 words; use references/ for details
  • Reference docs are distillations of eve-horizon system docs — not copies
  • Each skill should teach agents to think, not just follow recipes

Pack Structure

  • eve-work/ — General patterns (orchestration, jobs, debugging, skills, docs)
  • eve-se/ — Platform-specific (deploy, manifest, auth, pipelines, troubleshooting)
  • eve-design/ — Architecture & design thinking (agent-native design)

Private Skills

private-skills/ contains skills that make development in this repo more efficient. Install them via eve skill install with a skills.txt containing ../private-skill, then access them as normal skills.

Agent-Native Philosophy

Every skill should embody agent-native thinking: parity, granularity, composability, emergent capability. When an agent loads our skills, it should understand not just how to use Eve, but how to think about building on Eve.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
