uniprof: Instructions file for Claude Code

CLAUDE.md

uniprof CLAUDE.md is an instructions file for Claude Code from indragiek/uniprof. It costs 2,120 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

A project guide for Uniprof, a tool that measures where a program spends its time across different programming languages. It explains the code layout, commands, supported platforms, and tests.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when changing Uniprof, running its profilers, recording or viewing performance data, working with its command-line interface, or running tests.
Why use it?
It gives a coding agent the project rules and common commands in one place, reducing setup mistakes and unnecessary searching.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.02120 $0.02120
Opus 5 $0.01060 $0.01060
Sonnet 5 $0.00424 $0.00424
Haiku 4.5 $0.00212 $0.00212

Security

Grade A, and why

uniprof CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 9d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Uniprof Codebase Guide

Uniprof is a universal profiling tool that wraps platform profilers (py-spy, 0x, rbspy, async-profiler, dotnet-trace, perf, xctrace, etc.) to provide a consistent, cross‑language experience. It prefers Docker to minimize setup and ensure reproducible results.

Quick Start

  • Simplest: profile and analyze in one step
    • uniprof python app.py
    • uniprof --visualize node server.js
  • Save then analyze/visualize later
    • uniprof record -o profile.json -- ./my-app
    • uniprof analyze profile.json
    • uniprof visualize profile.json

CLI Reference

Aliases & Parsing

  • uniprof <cmd>uniprof record --analyze -- <cmd> (unless --visualize, which maps to record --visualize).
  • Options before the first non‑option belong to uniprof; after, they belong to your command.
  • record inserts -- automatically when omitted (so trailing args reach your app).
  • --extra-profiler-args accepts dashed values directly or as a single quoted string; the alias layer condenses them.

Examples

uniprof python app.py
uniprof -- python app.py
uniprof --visualize -- node server.js
uniprof -o out.json --analyze -- ./my-app

Commands

  • bootstrap — Environment checks and setup guidance
  • record — Record a profile
  • analyze — Analyze an existing profile
  • visualize — Serve the profile in a local Speedscope
  • mcp — Run or install the MCP server

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
