autopus-adk: Instructions file for Gemini CLI

GEMINI.md

autopus-adk GEMINI.md is an instructions file for Gemini CLI from Insajin/autopus-adk. It costs 380 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

A project instruction file for the Gemini command-line tool, describing the Autopus-ADK system, its agent workflow, skills, and code rules.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to define repository-wide instructions for agent delegation, file-size limits, code review, and related project conventions.
Why use it?
It gives that tool consistent project-specific guidance, including when to delegate work and how large source files may be.

Written for Gemini CLI: the file is GEMINI.md. Also seen: mentions subagents.

This is Insajin/autopus-adk's own configuration. It tells Gemini CLI how to work on autopus-adk itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Copy it as a starting point and replace the rules that are about this project. Everything autopus-adk configures →

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00380 $0.00380
Opus 5 $0.00190 $0.00190
Sonnet 5 $0.00076 $0.00076
Haiku 4.5 $0.00038 $0.00038

Measured 5d ago against content hash 93787ec2e8ec, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-08, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

autopus-adk GEMINI.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 5d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Core Guidelines

Subagent Delegation

IMPORTANT: Use subagents for complex tasks that modify 3+ files, span multiple domains, or exceed 200 lines of new code. Define clear scope, provide full context, review output before integrating.

File Size Limit

IMPORTANT: No source code file may exceed 300 lines. Target under 200 lines. Split source code by type, concern, or layer when approaching the limit. SPEC Markdown files under .autopus/specs/** are documentation and exempt from the 300-line source code limit. Excluded: generated files (_generated.go, .pb.go), documentation (.md), and config files (.yaml, *.json).

Code Review

During review, verify:

  • No source code file exceeds 300 lines (REQUIRED)
  • SPEC Markdown files under .autopus/specs/** are not split or rejected for line count alone
  • Complex changes use subagent delegation (SUGGESTED)

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
