Instructions file for Claude Code

Written for Claude Code: ${CLAUDE_PLUGIN_ROOT variable. Also seen: reads .claude/ paths; mentions CLAUDE.md; mentions subagents.

This is iroha924/mumei's own configuration. It tells Claude Code how to work on mumei itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Copy it as a starting point and replace the rules that are about this project. Everything mumei configures →

Not installable: its command points at a path on the author’s own machine, so it runs nowhere else. The line is /Users/shunichi/Projects/mumei.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.02389 $0.02389
Opus 5 $0.01195 $0.01195
Sonnet 5 $0.00478 $0.00478
Haiku 4.5 $0.00239 $0.00239

Security

Grade A, and why

mumei CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 8d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

mumei Development Guide

This file instructs developers (and their Claude sessions) working on the mumei plugin itself. Plugin users should read README.md instead.

What mumei is

A Quality Enforcement Layer plugin for Claude Code. Implemented in bash + jq; hooks physically enforce phase transitions, Wave-scoped commits, and the review pipeline.

New features are driven through /mumei:compose, whose vehicle picker offers spec (full SDD workflow) or plan (official Claude plan mode wrapped with TaskCreate). Both vehicles share the same review pipeline and the single escape hatch (MUMEI_BYPASS=1).

Details: README.md.

Language policy

Everything tracked in git is written in English — plugin payload (agents/, skills/, hooks/, manifests, README, LICENSE), development assets (CLAUDE.md, .claude/ rules / skills / agents), CI, and all NEW additions to docs/ dev records. The pre-existing Japanese content in docs/harness-engineering.md and docs/loop-engineering.md stays as-is (translation was deliberately skipped); append new entries to those files in English.

README.ja.md and docs/getting-started.ja.md are intentional Japanese mirrors of their English counterparts — keep both sides in sync.

When in doubt: if git tracks it, write English.

bash + jq conventions (essentials)

Details: .claude/rules/bash-conventions.md (auto-loaded for hooks/**/*.sh).

  • set -u on; set -e deliberately NOT used (per-call-site error handling).
  • Function prefix mumei_ (public) / _mumei_ (private).
  • ${CLAUDE_PLUGIN_ROOT:-} always with the :- fallback.
  • BSD awk compatible: the 3-arg match($0, /.../, arr) is gawk-only — forbidden.
  • Null-safe jq via // empty.
  • Escape hatch: check MUMEI_BYPASS=1 first and exit 0 immediately.

schemas/ conventions (essentials)

  • schemas/*.json are hand-written canonical contracts (state / review / cost-log / config / plugin / reliability-log). Hooks never read them at runtime; producing functions reference them in comments only.
  • Excluded from the plugin tarball via .gitattributes export-ignore.
  • When an on-disk shape changes, edit the JSON directly.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
