CLAUDE.md

facebook-lyr CLAUDE.md is an instructions file for Claude Code from ishan-parihar/facebook-lyr. It costs 711 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

A project guide for a cookie-based scraper for Facebook, Messenger, Threads, and related private endpoints. It documents the code layout, authentication flow, browser-cookie handling, and development rules.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to understand the scraper's files, endpoints, session handling, login flow, and command-line interface.
Why use it?
It gives coding agents the project context they need before changing code, reducing the risk of breaking authentication, scraping, or tool registration.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00711 $0.00711
Opus 5 $0.00356 $0.00356
Sonnet 5 $0.00142 $0.00142
Haiku 4.5 $0.00071 $0.00071

Security

Grade A, and why

facebook-lyr CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 9d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

CLAUDE.md — development guide

Project

Cookie-scraping MCP server for Facebook / Messenger / Threads, mirroring instagram-lyr. Auth = browser cookies (c_user + xs), transport = curl_cffi Chrome impersonation against www.facebook.com private-web endpoints + anonymous threads.net.

File map

File Purpose
scraping/identity.py Shared UA / chrome131 impersonation / client hints
scraping/parsers.py fb_dtsg extraction, login-wall detection, embedded-JSON deep-scan
scraping/api_client.py FacebookScrapeClient — profiles, posts, messenger, comments, groups, composer uploads, Threads
cookie_import.py Browser registry + SQLite cookie extraction
drivers/browser.py load_cookies / validate_session
session_state.py Source/runtime state + portable cookies.json (0600)
bootstrap.py Auth gating + FACEBOOK_COOKIES env bootstrap + login flow
dependencies.py get_ready_client + cookie write-back sink
error_handler.py Exception → ToolError mapping + diagnostics
tools/ tool_guard + 8 modules registering 25 tools
cli_main.py AXI CLI (home view, --login, --status, direct tool calls)
tool_registry.py Tool list for direct CLI execution

Key endpoints

  • Homepage (fb_dtsg): GET https://www.facebook.com/
  • Profiles/pages/groups: GET /{username} / GET /groups/{id} (embedded JSON)
  • Messenger: GET /ajax/mercury/threadlist_info.php, GET /ajax/mercury/thread_info.php, POST /ajax/mercury/send_messages.php
  • Writes: POST /ajax/updatestatus.php (posts), POST /ajax/ufi/ufi_composer.php (comments), POST /ajax/composer/attachment/create/upload/ (photos, best-effort)
  • Threads: GET https://www.threads.net/@{username} (anonymous)

Rules

  1. Keep the fingerprint bundle coherent — never mix UA/TLS pairings for one session.
  2. Extend parsers via deep-scan predicates, not hardcoded key paths.
  3. All write tools: confirm=true gate + write pacing.
  4. Cookies are credentials — 0600 on disk, never logged or returned.
  5. Don't add Graph API / token code back; this is a cookie-scraping project.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
