Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00512 $0.00512
Opus 5.5 $0.00205 $0.00205
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00102 $0.00102
Haiku 4.5 $0.00051 $0.00051

Security

Grade A, and why

List-GitHub-Contributors GEMINI.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 1mo ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Project Overview

A utility to fetch and list contributors for multiple GitHub repositories using the GitHub REST API. Features both a CLI interface and a web-based UI with batch processing capabilities.

Tech Stack

  • Backend: Python 3.11.4, FastAPI, requests, python-dotenv
  • Frontend: Vanilla HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Server: Uvicorn

Architecture

  • fetch_github_contributors.py: Core logic for interacting with the GitHub API. Supports single and batch repository processing.
  • app.py: FastAPI application serving the web UI and providing a batch-aware REST API endpoint.
  • static/: Contains frontend assets for the batch UI.
  • .env: (Required) Stores the ADMIN_TOKEN for authenticated requests.
  • contributors.txt: (Generated) Cumulative list of GitHub usernames from the latest batch. Updated via append during processing.

Setup and Running

Prerequisites

  • Python 3.11.4
  • A GitHub Personal Access Token (PAT).

Installation

  1. Install dependencies:
pip install requests python-dotenv fastapi uvicorn

  2. Configure environment variables:
    • Copy .env.example to .env.
    • Update ADMIN_TOKEN with your GitHub PAT.

Running the Web UI

  1. Start the server:
    python app.py

  2. Open your browser and navigate to http://localhost:8000.
  3. Enter repositories in owner/repo format (one per line).
  4. Use the "Append to contributors.txt" toggle to control whether the file is overwritten or appended to.

Running the CLI

Run the script to process the default list of repositories:

# To overwrite contributors.txt
python fetch_github_contributors.py

# To append to contributors.txt
python fetch_github_contributors.py --append

Development Conventions

  • Batch Processing: Both CLI and UI support processing multiple repositories in a single run.
  • File Output: By default, contributors.txt is cleared at the start of a run. If the append flag is active, results are added to the existing file.
  • UI Grouping: Results in the web UI are visually grouped by repository for clarity.
  • Fallback Logic: Uses DEFAULT_REPOS in fetch_github_contributors.py if no input is provided.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
