Project instructions for the Claude Code plugin that connects an assistant to ServiceNow tools. They describe skills, startup and safety hooks, tool lists, and generated plugin metadata.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use them when changing plugin skills, hooks, tool manifests, versions, or marketplace metadata.
Why use it?
They help keep the plugin's skills and safety checks aligned with the tools the server actually provides. They also prevent destructive operations from running without the required plan token.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00273 $0.00273
Opus 5.5 $0.00109 $0.00109
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00055 $0.00055
Haiku 4.5 $0.00027 $0.00027

Security

Grade C, and why

servicenow-mcp-ai plugin.instructions.md scanned grade C with 1 finding against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 11d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Hidden instructionshighPrompt injection

Directives inside HTML comments, invisible characters or bidirectional overrides are read by the model and not by the person reviewing the file.

What it actually says

skills, hooks, .claude-plugin — the Claude Code plugin

  • Skills: skills/<name>/SKILL.md with name and description frontmatter; the description says when to use the skill. A skill may name only tools that exist in test/fixtures/tools-manifest.json (test/plugin-skills.test.js).
  • Hook: hooks/hooks.json runs hooks/require-plan-token.mjs before every servicenow_* tool call. It denies a destructive apply without a plan_token and passes through anything it does not recognise. DESTRUCTIVE_TOOLS mirrors the server's confirm specs and is pinned by test/plugin-hook.test.js.
  • .claude-plugin/: the tool counts in plugin.json and marketplace.json are kept by npm run docs:sync, and the plugin.json version by scripts/sync-version.mjs — do not edit those numbers by hand.
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
