jira-mcp-quicktext: Instructions file for Claude Code

CLAUDE.md

jira-mcp-quicktext CLAUDE.md is an instructions file for Claude Code from JasserAmri/jira-mcp-quicktext. It costs 442 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

A project instruction file that records how to work on the jira-mcp-quicktext repository, including the local setup, build process, testing limits, and development environment.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when building, testing, or explaining changes to the Jira and Confluence connector. It helps developers give correct local commands and understand which tests must run in Claude Desktop.
Why use it?
It keeps instructions consistent when development happens across a remote Linux machine and a user's Windows computer. It also records steps needed for changes to appear in Claude Desktop.

Instructions file for Claude Code

Written for Claude Code: the file is CLAUDE.md. Also seen: mentions Claude Code.

This is JasserAmri/jira-mcp-quicktext's own configuration. It tells Claude Code how to work on jira-mcp-quicktext itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Copy it as a starting point and replace the rules that are about this project. Everything jira-mcp-quicktext configures →

Not installable: its command points at a path on the author’s own machine, so it runs nowhere else. The line is /home/user/jira-mcp-quicktext.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00442 $0.00442
Opus 5 $0.00221 $0.00221
Sonnet 5 $0.00088 $0.00088
Haiku 4.5 $0.00044 $0.00044

Measured 9d ago against content hash 61850602486b, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-09, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

jira-mcp-quicktext CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 9d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Project memory — jira-mcp-quicktext

Local environment (the user's machine)

  • The user's local clone lives at: C:\Users\JasserAMRI\jira-mcp-quicktext (Windows / PowerShell).
  • When giving the user commands to run locally, always prefix with the cd to that path, e.g.:
    cd C:\Users\JasserAMRI\jira-mcp-quicktext

  • Their MCP client is Claude Desktop; the jira-confluence-quicktext connector runs build\index.js from that folder (path confirmed in claude_desktop_config.json). After pulling new code they must run npm run build and then fully quit + reopen Claude Desktop for changes to take effect.

How this repo is worked on

  • Claude Code sessions run in a remote Linux cloud VM (/home/user/jira-mcp-quicktext), which is a separate clone from the user's Windows machine. The two only sync via GitHub — Claude pushes, the user pulls.
  • The quinta-jira_* / quinta-confluence_* MCP tools are not reachable from the cloud session; live tool testing must be done by the user in their Desktop app. Claude verifies code by building and booting the server over stdio (tools/list), not by calling the live connector.
  • Active development branch: claude/jira-mcp-confluence-tools-tndasc (PR #19).

Build / test quick reference

  • Install: npm ci · Build: npm run build (vite → build/index.js)
  • Unit tests: npm test (runs bun test; the suite currently covers the v3 client only)
  • Live suite (real creds, user's machine): npm run test:live — see tests/live/.env.live.example
  • The server targets self-hosted Jira/Confluence Data Center (Jira REST v2, Confluence REST v1).
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
