mcp-server-bitbucket: Instructions file for Codex

AGENTS.md

mcp-server-bitbucket AGENTS.md is an instructions file for Codex, OpenCode from JaviMaligno/mcp-server-bitbucket. It costs 1,446 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

A project instruction file for an MCP server that connects coding agents to Bitbucket Cloud. Bitbucket Cloud is a hosted Git service; MCP is a way for an agent to use defined tools and resources from another service.

In plain words
What is it for?
It is for developing the server’s Bitbucket repository, pull request, pipeline, branch, deployment, webhook, and permission integrations.
Why use it?
It gives contributors a map of the TypeScript and Python implementations, setup rules, sensitive-data restrictions, and steps for adding tools. This makes changes less likely to break one implementation or expose credentials.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.01446 $0.01446
Opus 5.5 $0.00578 $0.00578
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00289 $0.00289
Haiku 4.5 $0.00145 $0.00145

Security

Grade A, and why

mcp-server-bitbucket AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 8d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

AGENTS.md

MCP (Model Context Protocol) server for the Bitbucket Cloud API 2.0: repositories, pull requests, pipelines, branches, commits, tags, deployments, webhooks, branch restrictions, source browsing and permissions (62 Python / 64 TypeScript tools, 4 prompts, 5 resources). Published as mcp-server-bitbucket on npm (TypeScript) and PyPI (Python).

This repository is public (GitHub JaviMaligno/mcp-server-bitbucket). Keep company-internal infrastructure details (hostnames, registries, clusters, secret paths) and credentials out of committed files. .env is gitignored; document new variables in .env.example with placeholder values.

Layout

Path What it is
typescript/ TypeScript implementation. Recommended/primary one: used for Smithery, the npm package and the Docker image.
python/ Python implementation (FastMCP). Same tool surface. Has its own detailed guide in python/CLAUDE.md.
docs/ INSTALLATION.md (token creation, client setup), ROADMAP.md.
scripts/ evaluate_mcp.py, test_server_startup.py (ad-hoc helpers).
bitbucket-extension/ Packaged .mcpb extension + manifest.json.
smithery.yaml, glama.json, python/server.json Registry/marketplace metadata.

TypeScript source (typescript/src/):

  • index.ts - entry point; builds the MCP server and picks the transport (MCP_TRANSPORT=http or --http flag -> Streamable HTTP on PORT, default 3000; otherwise stdio).
  • tools/*.ts - one file per domain (repositories, pull-requests, pipelines, ...), registered via tools/index.ts.
  • client.ts - Bitbucket HTTP client (axios). settings.ts - env config and auth-mode resolution.
  • prompts.ts, resources.ts - MCP prompts and bitbucket:// resources.
  • auth.ts, oauth-proxy.ts - optional OAuth protection of /mcp for remote deployments (see below).

Python source (python/src/): server.py (all tools), bitbucket_client.py, settings.py (pydantic-settings), formatter.py (JSON/TOON output), models.py, http_server.py (Streamable HTTP transport).

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
