Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5.1 | $0.01683 | $0.01683 |
| Opus 5 | $0.00842 | $0.00842 |
| Sonnet 5 | $0.00337 | $0.00337 |
| Haiku 4.5 | $0.00168 | $0.00168 |
Grade A, and why
hermes-pentest-lab CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 1 finding against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 9d ago.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Asks for rootlowPrivilege escalation
A mod that escalates privileges can change anything on the machine, not only the project.
**`sudo env VAR=...` when setting environment for elevated commands.** `sudo` resets the Downgraded: this mod is about security review, or the phrase is quoted, so it is likely naming the pattern rather than instructing it.
How it starts
The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 121 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.
CLAUDE.md — hermes-pentest-lab
AI-agent pentesting lab: a Hermes Agent skill library (12 skills, 7 subagents), ~24
automation scripts, a scope-authorization engine, an encrypted engagement vault, and a
Jinja2 → WeasyPrint PDF report pipeline. Tools run natively on Kali; three kali-*
container profiles provide the same toolchain on non-Kali hosts.
Commands
make test # scope-check + audit-chain + mcp-enforce suites; stdlib only
make doctor # diagnose the install; every gap prints its fix
make lint # shellcheck + bash -n + ruff
make install # interactive (also: ./install.sh --minimal --dry-run)
make canary # LUKS / docker / VPN / tool health
make preflight ENG=<name> # per-engagement authorization gate
make images # build the kali-* tool containers
make up / down # bring tools online / stop and unmount
make mcp # launch the MCP tool-server (stdio; scope/rate/audit enforced)
bash tests/run.sh is the underlying test runner. Suites use only the standard library
and never touch the vault or the network.
The authorization model — read before changing anything
scripts/scope-check.py is security-critical and well-tested. Do not refactor it
casually. It is the single resolver deciding whether a target may be touched:
- exclusion is evaluated first and wins over inclusion
- IP/CIDR via
ipaddress, domains by suffix with*.wildcard support - fail-closed: a missing or malformed scope file denies, it does not crash
- exit 0 = allowed, exit 1 = denied
scripts/preflight.sh is the per-engagement gate: VPN up, signed scope, vault mounted,
findings DB present. It is distinct from pentest-doctor.sh, which checks the install.
Client-data boundary — non-negotiable
Client data never leaves the encrypted vault. Never commit, upload, or copy into any
external system: findings.db/findings.json, scope.json/scope-signed.pdf, target
IPs/hostnames/domains, credentials, evidence/, screenshots/, raw/, or
audit/actions.jsonl. The architecture — LUKS at rest, gitignored findings, age-encrypted
archives with destruction certificates, tamper-evident audit hash chains — exists
specifically to enforce this, and engagement contracts typically require it.
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

hermes-pentest-lab CLAUDE.md is an instructions file published in the GitHub repository jayelbotvibe-web/hermes-pentest-lab (9 stars, last pushed 14d ago), licensed MIT. It adds 1,683 tokens to every session, about $0.0084 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 1 finding (asks for root). No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
