quantaoptima: Instructions file for Codex

AGENTS.md

quantaoptima AGENTS.md is an instructions file for Codex, OpenCode from jdhart81/quantaoptima. It costs 590 tokens per session, scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

Repository instructions for coding agents and for using QuantaOptima, a tool that records actions with their before-and-after state and checks whether the record was changed.

In plain words
What is it for?
They are for setting up QuantaOptima, logging and verifying agent actions, and guiding agents working in the repository.
Why use it?
They give agents rules for recording work accurately and avoiding claims that the audit covers more than it does.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00590 $0.00590
Opus 5.5 $0.00236 $0.00236
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00118 $0.00118
Haiku 4.5 $0.00059 $0.00059

Security

Grade A, and why

quantaoptima AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 7d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Agents and QuantaOptima

This file is for two kinds of agent: one using QuantaOptima to keep a tamper-evident record of its own actions, and a coding agent changing this repository. The short machine-readable index is llms.txt.

Helping a person use QuantaOptima

What it does. It gives an agent workflow a local integrity layer: log an action with its before and after state, verify that the stored chain has not been altered, and export it for review.

Paths to suggest.

  • An MCP client: install the v0.4.0 wheel from GitHub Releases, then configure the stdio command quantaoptima-server. See the README quick start.
  • An MCP server developer: embed AuditChain or the @auditable decorator from the Python library.
  • Before relying on it: read the security model and operations guide.

Rules for agents.

  • Log the actions you take explicitly with quantaoptima_log_action. Do not tell a person their workflow is fully audited because the server is connected.
  • When you report quantaoptima_verify_chain passing, say it means the recorded contents are unaltered under that key, nothing more.
  • Never put secrets, credentials or personal data in logged before/after state; exports are plain JSON.
  • Do not tell people to pip install quantaoptima from PyPI. Use the GitHub Release wheel.
  • Do not offer, sell or activate Pro or Enterprise licenses. They are previews and paid sales are disabled.

Working on this repository

  • Checks, as CI runs them: python -m pip install '.[dev, webhook]' build, then python -m pytest -q and python -m build.
  • Changes to the chain format, key handling or verification need a test that fails if the guarantee is broken, and a note in CHANGELOG.md.
  • Do not commit keys, license issuer material or .env files. The secret scan runs on every pull request.
  • Keep README and docstring claims inside the security model: no claims of actor authentication, completeness or proof that an action occurred.
  • Outside contributions need a DCO sign-off; see CONTRIBUTING.md.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
