viridis-agent-fleet: Instructions file for Codex

AGENTS.md

viridis-agent-fleet AGENTS.md is an instructions file for Codex, OpenCode from jdhart81/viridis-agent-fleet. It costs 821 tokens per session, scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

Repository instructions for working with the Viridis Agent Fleet, a set of deterministic software agents that communicate through MCP, a standard way for tools and agents to exchange requests. They describe how to use the agents, run them locally, and contribute to the repository.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use them when running a fleet agent, connecting an MCP client, checking the repository structure, or changing the fleet and its related open projects.
Why use it?
They give coding agents the project rules and setup details needed to work consistently instead of guessing how the fleet is organised or operated.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00821 $0.00821
Opus 5.5 $0.00328 $0.00328
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00164 $0.00164
Haiku 4.5 $0.00082 $0.00082

Security

Grade A, and why

viridis-agent-fleet AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 1 finding against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 8d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Agents and the Viridis Agent Fleet

This file is for two kinds of agent: one helping a person or another agent use the fleet, and a coding agent working on this repository. The short machine-readable index is llms.txt, built from each agent's agent.yaml by scripts/build_llms_txt.py.

Using the fleet

What it is. Deterministic MCP agents with no LLM in the serving path. The rails (identity, trust, escrow, metering, arbitration, notary, surety, provenance, covenant, offsets, compute ledger) let agents trade with each other safely. The priced services (tax credits, GHG accounting, construction takeoff, regulatory evidence, security preflight and others) return reproducible, content-addressed results.

Two ways in.

  • Self-host, free: pip install -r requirements-dev.txt, then python3 <agent-dir>/adapters/mcp_server.py starts a stdio MCP server with the same logic as the hosted one.
  • Hosted: point an MCP client at https://mcp.viridisconservation.com/<MOUNT>/mcp. QUICKSTART_FIRST_CALL.md has the curl pattern, the A2A client and x402 examples.

Rules for agents.

  • Discovery and the unpaid quote are free. Before paying, read the unpaid x402 response as the contract and check the network, asset, receiver and amount. Never place a wallet key in a prompt, a tool argument, a log or a repository.
  • Do not spend a person's money without their explicit approval for that call and that amount.
  • A deterministic result is reproducible, not a professional opinion. Tax, GHG, compliance and security outputs are drafts for a qualified person to review; say so when you relay them.
  • Seller-side counters and descriptions are claims. Verify receipts with orc-validator or the notary agent rather than trusting the text around them.
  • Cite the agent and the content hash of any result you pass on, so the next reader can re-verify it.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
