Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00521 $0.00521
Opus 5 $0.00260 $0.00260
Sonnet 5 $0.00104 $0.00104
Haiku 4.5 $0.00052 $0.00052

Measured 10d ago against content hash 9d60b5a5495c, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-11, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

garmin-coach-mcp AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 10d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Agent instructions

Full context: CLAUDE.md. The essentials are inlined here because a pointer is easy to skip.

This repository is public

Never write into a tracked file: a real username or absolute path, a real resource group / region / FQDN, a tenant / subscription / client / object GUID, an email, or a credential expiry date. Use <placeholder> in docs; derive paths at runtime in code.

python scripts/check_secrets.py enforces this, runs as a pre-commit hook, and runs in CI. Run it before proposing a commit.

Secrets

  • They live in exactly two gitignored places: .azure/<env>/.env and ~/.garminconnect.
  • Do not run azd env get-values — it prints three live credentials into the transcript. Use python scripts/doctor.py, which redacts.
  • Never ask the user for their Garmin password. Hand them python scripts/setup_local.py and let them type it into their own terminal.

Use the scripts

Do not hand out az/azd command lines. If a script cannot do it, extend the script.

Task Command
Set up locally python scripts/setup_local.py
Diagnose python scripts/doctor.py (--remote, --json)
Deploy python scripts/deploy.py
Entra app python scripts/entra_app.py
Seed the Garmin token python scripts/seed_token.py
Rotate secrets python scripts/rotate_secrets.py --help

Rails

Confirm before azd down, az ad app delete, az containerapp delete, git push --force, or a history rewrite.

Never, without an explicit informed request: set GARMIN_COACH_ALLOWED_REDIRECT_HOSTS=*, remove the aud check, disable DNS-rebinding protection, or enable access logging while a shared secret is set.

create_strength_workout, schedule_workout and delete_workout change a real Garmin calendar. Confirm first.

Conventions

Python 3.10+; scripts/ is stdlib-only. Comments in this codebase explain why and are load-bearing — do not strip them. Security fixes land with a test verified to fail without the fix.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
