skills-mcp: Instructions file for Claude Code

CLAUDE.md

skills-mcp CLAUDE.md is an instructions file for Claude Code from Jignesh-Ponamwar/skills-mcp. It costs 873 tokens per session, scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

A set of instructions for using a Skill MCP server, a service that provides reusable instructions for AI coding tasks.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when writing or reviewing code, generating tests, analyzing data, writing documentation, scraping websites, connecting to APIs, or creating documents.
Why use it?
It explains when to look for a relevant skill and the order to follow when choosing and using one, reducing inconsistent task handling.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00873 $0.00873
Opus 5 $0.00436 $0.00436
Sonnet 5 $0.00175 $0.00175
Haiku 4.5 $0.00087 $0.00087

Measured 10d ago against content hash e45bea1c171d, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-10, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

skills-mcp CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 10d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Skill MCP - Agent Instructions for Claude Code

This project is connected to a Skill MCP server - a curated registry of expert instruction sets for common AI tasks. Use it proactively to deliver higher-quality, more consistent results.

MCP Server

Transport: SSE URL: https://skill-mcp.jigneshponamwar.workers.dev/sse

The server exposes 7 tools under the prefix skills_.

When to Use Skills

Check for a relevant skill at the start of any non-trivial task:

  • Writing or reviewing code
  • Generating tests
  • Analysing data (CSV, SQL, PDFs)
  • Writing documentation (README, commit messages, API docs)
  • Web scraping or API integration
  • Creating documents (DOCX, reports)

Do not check for skills on simple questions, quick edits, or conversational replies.

Canonical Workflow (always follow this order)

1 · Discover

skills_find_relevant(query="<specific description of what you need to do>")

Score thresholds:

  • > 0.6 → strong match → proceed to step 2
  • 0.4 – 0.6 → read description to decide
  • < 0.4 → no skill available → proceed without one

Write specific queries: "write pytest unit tests for a Flask REST endpoint" not "testing".

2 · Load instructions

skills_get_body(skill_id="<top match>")

Returns instructions (apply these) and tier3_manifest (lists supplementary files).

Optionally load config/constraints if the user asks about customisation:

skills_get_options(skill_id="<skill_id>")

3 · Fetch supplementary resources (only if instructions reference them)

# Reference documents
skills_get_reference(skill_id="<id>", filename="<file.md>")

# Execute a helper script - returns stdout/stderr only, source never exposed
skills_run_script(skill_id="<id>", filename="<script.py>", input_data={})

# Templates and static assets
skills_get_asset(skill_id="<id>", filename="<template.md>")

Call filename="list" on any Tier 3 tool to get its manifest first.

Only load files that the instructions explicitly reference. Do not load all available Tier 3 resources speculatively.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
