CLAUDE.md

mental-wellness-prompts CLAUDE.md is an instructions file for Claude Code from joebwd/mental-wellness-prompts. It costs 2,231 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

A repository guide for Claude Code for a collection of tested templates for AI mental-wellness conversations. It explains the project files, safety boundaries, and implementation guidance; CBT, DBT, and ACT are therapy approaches used as reference frameworks.

In plain words
What is it for?
Finding the main conversation templates, configuring tone and style, implementing safety protocols, and understanding the project documentation.
Why use it?

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.02231 $0.02231
Opus 5 $0.01115 $0.01115
Sonnet 5 $0.00446 $0.00446
Haiku 4.5 $0.00223 $0.00223

Measured 10d ago against content hash e00fa9e9d52c, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-10, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

mental-wellness-prompts CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 10d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Version 1.1 | November 2025

This file provides guidance to Claude Code (claude.ai/code) when working with code in this repository.

Repository Purpose

This is a collection of battle-tested, implementation-focused templates for AI-powered mental wellness support conversations. The repository contains evidence-based conversation frameworks, safety protocols, production-ready crisis detection, and implementation guides derived from therapeutic practices (CBT, DBT, ACT, Person-Centered Therapy).

Developed through 12+ months of systematic testing at Yara AI (October 2024-October 2025), now open-sourced for public benefit.

Critical Context: These templates are for supporting mental wellness conversations, NOT for therapy or medical treatment. They emphasize safety, boundaries, and appropriate referral to professional services.

Core Files Overview

Primary Templates

  • mental_wellness_conversation_guide.md - Core conversation framework with v1.1 CRITICAL flags for brevity, jargon avoidance, post-crisis mode
  • tone_style_configuration.md - Detailed tone/style settings with enhanced jargon replacement and welcome message guidance
  • safety_crisis_resources.md - Critical safety protocols, crisis recognition phrases, regional crisis resources, and professional boundary guidelines
  • sample_pathway_sleep.md - Example structured pathway showing multi-conversation approach to sleep challenges
  • sample_pathway_anxiety.md - Example pathway for anxiety support

Development & Implementation Documentation

  • README.md - Implementation guide, ethical considerations, use cases, platform-specific setup instructions
  • EVOLUTION.md - Development story: why each rule exists, real examples, regulatory context (Illinois HB1806)
  • TESTING.md - Automated validation framework to ensure compliance and catch drift
  • IMPROVEMENTS.md - v1.1 enhancements documentation
  • ARCHITECTURE.md - Multi-agent supervisor patterns with working Python code
  • FAILED_APPROACHES.md - What didn't work and why (learning from failures)

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
