In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when maintaining the skill, its prompt templates, tool adapters, bilingual README files, or its evaluation results.
Why use it?
It keeps the working method in one canonical file and helps prevent related documentation and tool integrations from drifting apart.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00354 $0.00354
Opus 5 $0.00177 $0.00177
Sonnet 5 $0.00071 $0.00071
Haiku 4.5 $0.00035 $0.00035

Measured 7d ago against content hash ed9694dee384, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-07, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

fable-workflow-skill CLAUDE.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 7d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

fable-workflow-skill

A single portable agent skill (SKILL.md) that ports a Fable-style working method onto any model. This repo is docs + one skill — there is no build step.

Layout

  • SKILL.md — the skill itself (the only file agents load). Keep it under ~120 lines.
  • prompts.md — copy-paste prompt templates referenced by the skill.
  • integrations/ — adapters for other tools: AGENTS.md (Antigravity/Codex/Aider/Zed/…) and cursor/fable-workflow.mdc.
  • benchmark/RESULTS.md — the cross-model A/B evaluation.
  • README.md / README.ko.md — English + Korean. Keep both in sync when editing.
  • install.sh — copies SKILL.md + prompts.md into a target .claude/skills dir.
  • assets/banner.png — repo banner (user-supplied).

Editing rules

  • Edit the skill in SKILL.md in place; don't split it into more files.
  • SKILL.md is canonical; integrations/AGENTS.md and integrations/cursor/fable-workflow.mdc carry a condensed copy — keep all three in sync when the method changes.
  • Any change to one README must be mirrored in the other language.
  • Benchmark numbers are from a small pilot — if you rerun, update the caveats too, don't just swap the table.

Adding a README language

Add README.<lang>.md and update the language switcher line at the top of every README.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
