What this is

agentic-memory-mcp is a self-contained, open-source MCP server that provides long-term memory for AI agents. Persistence uses CockroachDB Cloud (native VECTOR + distributed vector index). Intelligence uses Amazon Bedrock. Runtime target is AWS Lambda (Function URL) or local stdio/HTTP.

Isolation contract

This project is developed as a standalone repository. It must not import from or depend on any private monorepo.

Hard requirements:

No outward dependencies. Nothing in this folder may import from, reference, or read files outside this repository. No ../ imports that escape the repo, no reliance on a parent package.json, tsconfig, node_modules, env, database, or build tooling. This module has its own package.json, tsconfig.json, and vitest.config.ts.
Self-contained tooling. Build, typecheck, test, lint, run, and deploy must all work from the repository root alone (npm install + scripts in package.json).
No secrets in git. Database URLs, Bedrock credentials, and auth tokens are env vars / Secrets Manager only and must never be committed.
Publish hygiene. Before making the tree public, run npm run hygiene:grep. Zero hits for internal product names listed in that script.
Internal submission assets. Video scripts, gallery slides, Devpost paste buffers, and operator checklists live in the monorepo at docs/cockroach-hackathon/ only. They are not part of the public agentic-memory-mcp/ export.

Conventions

TypeScript, ESM, NodeNext: relative imports use explicit .js extensions.
ASCII-only in source and docs (no smart quotes, em dashes, or ellipsis chars).
Bedrock integration is confined to src/bedrock.ts.
CockroachDB persistence is confined to src/memory/cockroach-store.ts.
Keep FakeIntelligence in lockstep with MemoryIntelligence so tests and the demo never need network.
