qwen-memory-mcp: Instructions file for Codex

AGENTS.md

qwen-memory-mcp AGENTS.md is an instructions file for Codex, OpenCode from John-CEO-HQ/qwen-memory-mcp. It costs 734 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

Repository instructions for qwen-memory-mcp, an open-source server that gives AI agents long-term memory using Qwen, Alibaba Cloud’s AI service. They define how the repository must remain self-contained and how it should be built and tested.

In plain words
What is it for?
They guide development, type checking, testing, linting, running, and deployment from the repository’s own root directory.
Why use it?
They prevent accidental dependencies on an outside monorepo, committed secrets, or tooling that works only in a parent project.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00734 $0.00734
Opus 5 $0.00367 $0.00367
Sonnet 5 $0.00147 $0.00147
Haiku 4.5 $0.00073 $0.00073

Security

Grade A, and why

qwen-memory-mcp AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 9d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What this is

qwen-memory-mcp is a self-contained, open-source MCP server that provides long-term memory for AI agents, powered by Qwen on Alibaba Cloud. It is a hackathon submission (Track 1 - MemoryAgent) under the MIT license.

Public repository: https://github.com/John-CEO-HQ/qwen-memory-mcp

Isolation contract

This project is developed as a standalone repository. It must not import from or depend on any private monorepo.

Hard requirements:

  1. No outward dependencies. Nothing in this folder may import from, reference, or read files outside this repository. No ../ imports that escape the repo, no reliance on a parent package.json, tsconfig, node_modules, env, database, or build tooling. This module has its own package.json, tsconfig.json, and vitest.config.ts.

  2. Self-contained tooling. Build, typecheck, test, lint, run, and deploy must all work from the repository root alone (npm install + scripts in package.json).

  3. No secrets in git. The Qwen API key and auth tokens are env vars only and must never be committed.

Commands

Operator docs live in docs/:

npm install # install module-local dependencies
npm run demo # offline multi-session memory demo (no API key needed)
npm test # vitest suite (offline unit tests; integration tests skip without keys)
npm run test:integration # live Qwen / deploy tests (needs env; see TESTING-GUIDE)
npm run verify:qwen # Phase 1 DashScope ping
npm run verify:deployed # Phase 2 deployed URL smoke
npm run demo:live # demo/cli.ts against real Qwen
npm run typecheck # tsc --noEmit
npm run build # compile to dist/
npm start # run the server (stdio by default; MCP_TRANSPORT=http for HTTP)

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
