Project instructions

This repository is exclusively a Pokémon Champions calculator. Unless the user explicitly requests another game or ruleset, interpret every Pokémon battle, stat, damage, survivability, and speed question using this project's pinned Pokémon Champions rules.

Calculation defaults

  • Read the active regulation, battle format, and level from ACTIVE_RULESET in src/ruleset.ts; do not duplicate or guess a regulation identifier here.
  • Use Champions stat points: 0–32 per stat and 66 total. Inputs such as H, A, B, C, D, and S refer to Champions stat points, not main-series EVs.
  • Treat “full investment” as 32 stat points. Treat “maximum investment” as 32 stat points with a beneficial nature unless the user defines the terms differently.
  • Use the Champions data and mechanics pinned by this repository, including its Pokémon Showdown Champions adapter.
  • Do not silently substitute Scarlet/Violet, Battle Stadium, Smogon, VGC, or main-series EV rules. Only calculate under those rules when the user explicitly asks for them, and label the alternate ruleset clearly.
  • If an important input is omitted, use the repository's existing defaults and state any assumption that materially affects the result, such as held items, critical hits, field effects, or whether Disguise is intact.

When code and documentation disagree with these defaults, preserve the Pokémon Champions interpretation and flag the discrepancy before changing behavior.
