Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00445 $0.00445
Opus 5 $0.00222 $0.00222
Sonnet 5 $0.00089 $0.00089
Haiku 4.5 $0.00044 $0.00044

Measured 10d ago against content hash 02edc4dc2b77, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-10, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade B, and why

rudycanshoot CLAUDE.md scanned grade B with 1 finding against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 10d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Asks for rootmediumPrivilege escalation

A mod that escalates privileges can change anything on the machine, not only the project.

Install optional: `sudo apt install scrot` or `sudo apt install grim` (Wayland). `xwd` + `ffmpeg` often already enough on X11.

What it actually says

rudycanshoot

This is the rudycanshoot project — an MCP server that lets AI assistants take and view screenshots.

MCP Tools Available

Tool Description
take_screenshot Capture fullscreen, active window, or a region
read_screenshot Read a saved screenshot as base64 for viewing
list_screenshots List recent captures with timestamps and paths
record_video Record a temporary screen video; returns frames for AI viewing
record_terminal Record a TERMINAL SESSION (a running command) as a GIF — no desktop, works headless
read_video Extract frames from a video so the AI can watch it

Development Commands

npm install # install dependencies
node bin/rudycanshoot.js serve # start MCP server (stdio)
node bin/rudycanshoot.js capture # take a screenshot from CLI
node bin/rudycanshoot.js install --all # configure all AI tools

Key Files

  • src/screenshot.js — platform-specific capture logic (Linux/macOS/Windows)
  • src/server.js — MCP server with tool definitions
  • src/install.js — auto-installer for AI tools
  • bin/rudycanshoot.js — CLI entry point

Screenshot Backends (Linux, in priority order)

Silent tools only (no portal permission popups):

  1. grim (Wayland)
  2. scrot / maim / import (X11)
  3. xwd + ffmpeg → PNG (X11 built-in path)
  4. ffmpeg x11grab single frame
  5. WSL → Windows PowerShell (fallback)

Install optional: sudo apt install scrot or sudo apt install grim (Wayland). xwd + ffmpeg often already enough on X11.

Video (silent only): ffmpeg x11grab → wf-recorder → screenshot-frame encode. Never portal ScreenCast.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
