pylon-mcp: Instructions file for Codex

AGENTS.md

pylon-mcp AGENTS.md is an instructions file for Codex, OpenCode from JustinBeckwith/pylon-mcp. It costs 299 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

Contribution instructions for a TypeScript project, including its branch, commit, testing, build, linting, and pull-request rules. A pull request is a proposed change submitted for review before it is merged.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when changing the project, especially to create a feature branch, run type checks and tests, validate MCP configuration, format code, commit changes, and prepare a pull request.
Why use it?
It gives coding agents the repository's required workflow and checks, reducing the chance of unreviewed changes or broken code being submitted.

Instructions file for CodexOpenCode

Written for Codex and OpenCode: the file is AGENTS.md.

This is JustinBeckwith/pylon-mcp's own configuration. It tells Codex and OpenCode how to work on pylon-mcp itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Copy it as a starting point and replace the rules that are about this project. Everything pylon-mcp configures →

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00299 $0.00299
Opus 5 $0.00150 $0.00150
Sonnet 5 $0.00060 $0.00060
Haiku 4.5 $0.00030 $0.00030

Measured 6d ago against content hash ea9d24e4ffba, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-06, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

pylon-mcp AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 6d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Making Changes

When making changes to this repository:

  1. Create a new branch from main:

    git checkout -b feature/description-of-change

  2. Make your changes and commit them:

    git add -A
git commit -m "type: description of change"

  3. Push the branch and create a pull request:

    git push -u origin feature/description-of-change
gh pr create --title "type: description" --body "Description of changes"

  4. Do not push directly to main - all changes should go through pull requests.

Commit Message Format

Use conventional commits:

  • feat: - New features
  • fix: - Bug fixes
  • refactor: - Code refactoring
  • docs: - Documentation changes
  • chore: - Maintenance tasks
  • test: - Test additions/changes

Development Commands

pnpm install # Install dependencies
pnpm run build # Build the project
pnpm run typecheck # Type check all TypeScript
pnpm run lint # Run linter
pnpm run fix # Auto-fix lint/format issues
pnpm run test # Run tests
pnpm run validate:mcp # Validate MCP configuration

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
