CLAUDE.md

ccusage-web CLAUDE.md is an instructions file for Claude Code from jx453331958/ccusage-web. It costs 313 tokens per session, scanned C, original, MIT.

Project instructions for ccusage-web, a web application that tracks Claude Code usage. They describe its Next.js frontend and API, SQLite database, charts, deployment setup, and usage-data collection agent.

In plain words
What is it for?
They help maintain the web app, collect usage data with Python or Node.js, work with its database and charts, run reproducible installs, and deploy it with Docker.
Why use it?
They give coding agents the project’s conventions and common fixes, including how to resolve dependency lock-file problems and how the application is deployed.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00313 $0.00313
Opus 5 $0.00156 $0.00156
Sonnet 5 $0.00063 $0.00063
Haiku 4.5 $0.00031 $0.00031

Security

Grade C, and why

ccusage-web CLAUDE.md scanned grade C with 1 finding against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 7d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Recursive force deletehighDestructive command

rm -rf with a variable or a broad path is one typo away from removing the wrong tree.

Common Issues

npm ci fails with "package.json and package-lock.json are in sync" error

Symptoms:

npm ci can only install packages when your package.json and package-lock.json or npm-shrinkwrap.json are in sync.
Missing: @swc/[email protected] from lock file

Cause: This happens when dependencies are added/updated but package-lock.json wasn't properly regenerated, or when transitive dependencies change.

Fix:

rm -rf node_modules package-lock.json && npm install

Then commit and push the regenerated package-lock.json.

Prevention: After any dependency changes, always run npm install and commit both package.json and package-lock.json together.

Project Structure

  • Frontend: Next.js 15 with App Router, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS
  • Backend: Next.js API routes with SQLite (better-sqlite3)
  • Charts: ECharts for React
  • Agent: Python 3 (preferred) or Node.js for usage data collection

Deployment

  • Docker-based deployment
  • Uses npm ci for reproducible builds (requires synced lock file)
  • Alpine Linux base image

Agent

The agent (/agent) supports both Python 3 and Node.js:

  • Python 3.6+ (recommended, uses only standard library)
  • Node.js 18+ (fallback)

Setup script auto-detects available runtime.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
