yaffa: Instructions file for Codex

AGENTS.md

yaffa AGENTS.md is an instructions file for Codex, OpenCode from kantorge/yaffa. It costs 2,217 tokens per session, scanned A, original, MIT.

A repository instruction file for the Yaffa Laravel application. It tells coding agents about the app's framework versions, coding conventions, architecture, and verification commands.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when asking an agent to modify, review, or verify Yaffa code. It helps with Laravel and PHP work, reusing existing components, and running the project's checks.
Why use it?
It gives an agent the project context and local rules needed to make changes that fit the existing code. It also reduces mistakes caused by assuming the wrong package versions or file patterns.

Written for Codex and OpenCode: the file is AGENTS.md.

This is kantorge/yaffa's own configuration. It tells Codex and OpenCode how to work on yaffa itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Copy it as a starting point and replace the rules that are about this project. Everything yaffa configures →

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.02217 $0.02217
Opus 5.5 $0.00887 $0.00887
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00443 $0.00443
Haiku 4.5 $0.00222 $0.00222

Security

Grade A, and why

yaffa AGENTS.md scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured today.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Laravel Boost Guidelines

Foundational Context

This application is a Laravel application running on PHP 8.4. Always use the APIs that match the installed major version of each package — do not assume a version.

Before relying on a package's API, confirm its installed version:

  • PHP packages: run vendor/bin/sail composer show --direct to list direct dependencies with versions, or vendor/bin/sail composer show <vendor/package> for a single package.
  • JS packages: check package.json for the installed versions.

Conventions

  • You must follow all existing code conventions used in this application. When creating or editing a file, check sibling files for the correct structure, approach, and naming.
  • Use descriptive names for variables and methods. For example, isRegisteredForDiscounts, not discount().
  • Check for existing components to reuse before writing a new one.

Verification Scripts

  • Do not create verification scripts or tinker when tests cover that functionality and prove they work. Unit and feature tests are more important.

Application Structure & Architecture

  • Stick to existing directory structure; don't create new base folders without approval.
  • Do not change the application's dependencies without approval.

Frontend Bundling

  • If a frontend change doesn't show in the UI or you get a "Unable to locate file in Vite manifest" error, run vendor/bin/sail npm run build or ask the user to run vendor/bin/sail npm run dev or vendor/bin/sail composer run dev.

Documentation Files

  • You must only create documentation files if explicitly requested by the user.

=== boost rules ===

Laravel Boost

Tools

  • Laravel Boost is an MCP server with tools designed specifically for this application. Prefer Boost tools over manual alternatives like shell commands or file reads.
  • Use database-query to run read-only queries against the database instead of writing raw SQL in tinker.
  • Use database-schema to inspect table structure before writing migrations or models.
  • Use get-absolute-url to resolve the correct scheme, domain, and port for project URLs. Always use this before sharing a URL with the user.
  • Use browser-logs to read browser logs, errors, and exceptions. Only recent logs are useful, ignore old entries.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
